It's interesting that recognition of that state of corporate reality as it now stands is considered to be support for it. Not just in this thread or this member but in general around these parts. It' my thought that to recognize just how far we have already been infiltrated by it's tentacles is more than most can bear.

Another thought here. Member Arizonaguy put up a thread after this one about Forbes calling for a list of Trump administration members and boycotting them, not hiring them in the future.

I think that what we have going on now with this Facebook and stuff, rather than being political warfare is now the emergence of outright corporate warfare. I think indeed there is a ''reset'' coming upon us but again I see it as not so much governmental as it is corporate juggling for the next leg of the corporate crack down. Somewhat as was alluded to in the first Rollerball movie, a world after the corporate wars. And of course in the remake of Rollerball, that whole aspect, the real story of Rollerball was wiped clean from the story line.

Yep. It certainly is happening. Corporate lobbyists have been directing our politicians with big money and influence in this direction which is in line with what you mention. I saw this happening back when HW Bush was in office.

Twitter, the new safe space. Because words and ideas I don’t like and don’t agree with hurt.

And hand in hand with this is the push to label the media as liberal and socialist. Corporate belief systems putting the blame for increasing control all on the government. Blame the weapon rather than the ones controlling the weapon. In this manner the focus is kept from focusing on the real instigators of world control. It's almost like governments were set up to take the blame leaving corporations to go about their business.

It's the fusion of corporate and government. The union will be consummated in 11 days and look what it's already doing.

That's classically called fascism.

We know where it leads, but maybe Amtrak will run on time.

I'm not going to argue that point with you ket, it's pretty clear where we are and have been headed. The thing though that I just don't understand is the belief that choosing Trump to stand in the way of that has to me, always been a joke, a joke played on those who thought he could make a difference. Rather than doing anything serious about it, half the nation put their hope in this goofball. I can easily understand those who believe that he was a plant all along.

What was the alternative?

We bought ourselves four years while they were pre-occupied with him.

Thing is that everyone calls Trump the problem, but he was never exactly the main issue. He was always at best a symptom, a message being sent.

I know I voted for him the first time to flip the bird at the establishment. There was no viable alternative at the time. The second time it was because it turned out that he actually knew a thing or two about economic policy.

a reply to: ketsukoAnd I gave up my 30+ years Republican Party affiliation to flip the bird at the establishment by voting for Sanders against Clinton in their primaries.

And yes, even for a moment I thought maybe, maybe a business man in the cat seat. But just a moment. From my vantage point though he was not a good businessman, rather a poor business man who bought and sold all to often product that was poor. He was not a producer but instead a a wild-cater who made his profit and ran to the next mine. And finally reaching his end as a business and banking risk, lucked out when NBC offered him a job as a comic entertainer.

So yeah, against all of my previous principles I voted for Clinton. I never saw Trump as anything more than an embodiment of Shiva,

He deactivated his account... it’s not a digital purge it’s people who are fed up with the bs on Twitter. Perhaps before spreading incorrect information do some research.

I know I said that on the previous page on Jan.8. I’m guessing what you were reacting to was my response to the op when they responded by telling me they didn’t say that Twitter suspended his account. So I quoted the first line in the op. Thank you.
