Requiem for a messageboard

The news that ATS may be sold is not necessarily bad news. Perhaps it will be rescued by somebody with the same vision.

But perhaps not.

Either way, it will be the end of an era.

I think it is a mistake.
Mistakes happen.

I have been reflecting on the local history in these parts.

I remember when they shot the wrong guy, in my little town.
Turns out a mob guy lived two doors down...hey Guido, is it 132, or 123?
Nevermind, there he is, lets get him
cocks shotgun.

He was a plumber, getting into his Econoline at 6 AM for work.
Now he’s dead. Laid out on the front lawn.

I was listening to the scanner when it happened.
Immediately upon arriving, cops were tripping over themselves
announcing on the radio that it ‘looks like a car jacking gone bad’.

Sure thing Chief. Sure it was...better do what you’re paid to do.

Yes, who wouldn’t want a stylish used Ford van, loaded with used plumbing gear?
Only...why didn’t they take the van?

Or how about when a lady cop T boned a long time resident who lived down the street
at about 90? Blew through a 4 way stop, a controlled intersection on a quiet street, speed limit
25 mph. Killed her. The cop was still cruising the streets last I checked.
I used to leave a candle at the curb where it happened, just blocks away.
I think the cop was responding to a call about a raccoon making noise in someone’s attic
on the far side of town. Didn’t want to miss out on the action. They like action.

And should anyone wish to discuss an injustice, now you can hide behind covidhoax.
So can the Mayor. So can the Fire Chief. Works for everyone, right?
Level 5 emergency my ass. Maybe now, since they’re chemical steaming the lead
water supply pipes clean, things will change....

There seems to be dozens of stories about cops gone wild here.
One blogger is even offering rewards for reported abuses.

But I digress.

I’ll miss this place. There is nowhere else I go, nowhere else like it.
Moderators have made a few errors, in my calculation, by slicing posts which
prove to be prophetic (ie., covidhoax) but overall they
do a fine job. Mods are everything to a place such as this.
Also of note...the crappy mods seem to have been leashed, or excused from duty.
I can spot a bad cop a mile away, but there have been but few onboard here.
I hate rotten cops. With a passion. They kill the spirit. When that fails, they just kill you outright.

If I had the money, I would buy it, and this is why:
They are selling it before it gets taken away.
I would buy it so everyone could bear witness to where this stolen election
intends to take us. I would buy it so I could lose it, or die fighting to keep it,
so that many could bear witness to the murderous act of treason in it’s removal.
And I would try to keep the current crop of cops in place.
This site is like the flesh of our anatomical defenses.
It is as thin, as fragile, as life-essential,
and it is the first, and perhaps the last defense against infectious tyranny.
