Toilet Illusions

I made the stupid mistake of trying to buy two packs of toilet rolls. I usually buy the smaller 4-packs. I could have gotten one of those colossal bulk packs instead, but that's not my shopping habit since I don't live in a big household.

Anyways, the cashier took one pack and sent it back to the shelf. Only one purchase allowed.

Who is this protecting? Who is this saving? Better yet, who is this fooling?

You take one 4-pack away from me and put it on the shelf to prevent hoarding.

So me buying a normal set of toilet rolls is a danger. I should have bought one of those 24-packs or whatever they come in. Is that hoarding? I'm just one person. They wouldn't have batted an eye.

Now here's where the scam really gets creative. Load up the minivan with everyone in the family and give them 10 bucks. Grandma too. Walk in all sly and nonchalant and everyone walks out with a 24-pack and hoarding is achieved with Skippy & Dippy the grocery managers being none the wiser.

And here I am with only 1 purchase of toilet rolls. No rolls for you!

It's all illusion. Everything about this is an illusion. We now live in a world where adults engage in socially encouraged pretend play with each other.

We have sacrificed reasoning and logic and replaced it with draconian rules that make no sense. The proof is in the ply. There is no going back to normal.

Sure the noose is tightening, but that's not a problem for the masses that get off on self-asphyxiation.

Yes. That's the point.

The rule is so stupid that it has the easiest workarounds to the point that the rule shouldn't even exist.

If someone wants to hoard, they're not going to be stopped even a little bit.

It is one roll per purchase is the rule. they at least won't tell you that you are limited to only one trip to the store per day, at least not yet.
