Bomb hero's last seconds

No chance ... bag explodes

THIS was the horrific sequence of events captured on TV as a bomb disposal expert tried to defuse a terrorist device � and got blown to bits.

The officer moved in after Moscow police stopped a woman carrying a handbag full of explosives.

Major Georgy Trofimov, 29, wearing a protective suit, approached the bag and crouched down � and was then engulfed in a huge blast.

Last weekend the hero major had defused an explosive belt worn by one of the suicide bombers targeting a rock festival.

It is men like this that deserve our highest gratitude during the hard times that this world is faced with today. Unfortonately the thanks don't seem to be enough. When a hero such as this passes to the hands of villians one must wonder who the real winners are. It is so sad to know that people with such great hearts, such great minds, and such great greatness come to pass like this.

Today let us all commend this man and give him our blessing. He deserves it and a whole lot more.

God Bless the men and women who vow to fight that which we often find ourselves running away from. Those are men and women shall never be forgotten. God Bless their souls.
