chances are that I'd hit a star like our sun.

Also...
* Comets are diffuse; WOW was a point source
* Big Ear was operating in dual-feed mode, so a source in one feed would have been seen in the next/prior feed 2.5 minutes later/before - WOW was seen in only one feed
* Comets do not have bright hydrogen spectral lines

The Paris et al group do not address any of these three fatal flaws in their theory.

There's always a dozen different possibilities.

From what I've seen, most professional astronomers
astrophysicists think the 'wow' signal had a prosaic
explanation.

There has never been a time that a similar event has
not.

If someone insists on believing something, it's always
possible to make more angels dance on the head of
a pin, until their point is 'proven'.

All that said, the WOW signal was not terribly
interesting, as it did not repeat, and thus,
there's no way to know if it was some awesome
thing, or nothing at all.

Unless it repeats, that's all we know.
