Wow, watching a doc and realized it's tonight. Almost fifty years ago on Thanksgiving Eve he pulled his famous hijacking and still no one knows who he was. Well, happy anniversary whoever you were. You got away with one helluva crime. If he survived is another matter.

If this ever gets solved I'll be shocked, but then I don't think anyone really thought they would find the Golden State Killer so who knows. It's conspiracy fodder for the ages.

DB was a woman, apparently.

I'm not buying the chick theory, even though she was a man at the time. I doubt anyone has ever gotten close to the true identity of Cooper.

The Robert Rackstraw theory really holds weight, but since he passed away, we'll never know for sure.

I wonder how much money that $200,000 would be today? A couple of million maybe?

Correction: About 1.3 million today. Enough to retire on if you're frugal.

I forget the details but there were a couple of things he said that made me think it wasn't him but he's got all the qualifications for sure. He wouldn't give up his dna though which is kinda sketchy.

ETA: When money gets recycled, put out of commission, do they check the serial numbers? If so, wouldn't they have found some of Cooper's money, if used, and might that be something the FBI is withholding in this case?

ETA2: If there had been so many hijackings before this, none successful thankfully, and then this, why did they not reinforce the doors to the cockpit well before 9/11 ever happened? It just seems like they should have thought about this years before it actually happened.

DB was the one who got away. Doubt he survived, but people have been finding shreds of those bank notes. There is no treasure anymore. The earth reclaimed it.

I remember going to a museum/tourist trap in Washington state years ago that had the DB money to look at.

$100 bills that had shrunk to half their size... found on the river bank where they lost the trail.

But since we are on a conspiracy website and we think about things...

Why is there a DBC here on ATS that posts all the time that is from the same area?

~shocked look~

Won’t expire in this case. See you caused a federal regulation to be created so that airplane doors cannot be opened while the plane is in flight. Not a permission type thing. They literally cannot be opened while in flight. You have to land (or crash) to work that latch.

What DB did was air piracy/hijacking with a 5 year SofL. However, it also fits the crime of a Hobbs Act violation, which has no Limitation.
