An outstanding movie that is roughly prescient of today's political situation

Kirk Douglas, Ava Gardner, Burt Lancaster

Seven Days in May is a 1964 American political thriller film about a military-political cabal's planned takeover of the United States government in reaction to the president's negotiation of a disarmament treaty with the Soviet Union. The picture, starring Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Fredric March, and Ava Gardner, was directed by John Frankenheimer from a screenplay written by Rod Serling and based on the novel of the same name by Fletcher Knebel and Charles W. Bailey II, published in September 1962.[2]

Powerful Phlik. Two of the greatest actors of that generation going head to head from principled political positions. Just different set of principles.

It sounds quite a bit like now.

An elected POTUS faced four years of coup attempts while trying to negotiate peace and bring home our soldiers from pointless wars.

I'm glad you're seeing the light about what's been happening here.

I always really liked lancaster and kirk douglas on screen. I was never keen on gregory peck however. That’s one reason I enjoy the omen. Great ending.
