McConnel Blocks Election Security Bill

This article makes a point to highlight McConnel’s measly $1,000 and $2,000 contributions from the voting machine companies, but I can’t say that amount of money would mean jack sh*t to a millionaire. I personally don’t see that being a reason to block the bill.

Thursday's first bill, presented by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer would authorize $775 million to bolster election security and require states to keep paper trails of all votes cast. The second, presented by Senator Richard Blumenthal, would require political candidates and their staff and family members to notify the FBI about any offers of assistance from foreign governments.

I wonder if this was another bill that was stuffed full of DNC pulled pork sandwiches? If so, why wasn’t an effort made to separate the pork from the bill to push through more secure voting measures? Sounds like right about now, a paper trail for every vote cast would be ideal for all involved.

I still find it very odd that the RNC did nothing to help ensure our election process were more secure going into the 2020 elections. If members of ATS were sure the DNC would commit whatever fraud they could, surely the RNC were thinking the same thing. Not only did they do nothing to get ahead of it, but they blocked measures presented by the DNC itself. Certainly odd.

This is the kind of stuff that makes me view the DNC and RNC as two heads of the same snake. These people don’t want to do what’s right for the country, they want to put on a show to make us think they’re speaking for us and doing the right thing. It’s all bullsh*t.

The DNC and RNC both want Trump out of the way so they can continue their game with the original players. Trump was just a glitch

Not that Mitch isn't thieving snake, but I would like to see the full of the bill. As we all know they can NEVER put something thru for the good of the people without adding on a bunch pork and tyranny.

Now is not the time to think about new election software while current investigations are still ongoing. Chuck Schumer is a bad apple, looks like a funding grab to help cover up for all election fraud still in play.

The article is subtly admitting that voting machines are a major source of vote "miscounts" roflmao 🎩😃

Mitch McConnell blocks bills because he gets a kick out of it. That’s it. He proudly refers to himself as the “grim reaper” because of it. It’s just about power.

And this asshat has been a senator for over 30 years.

Sure, I don’t disagree. But if both parties were truly concerned about voter fraud, they would/should/could have done something. They could have whittled that bill away until the only thing left was going towards election security.

Election security should be a 100% bi-partisan effort. We, as Americans, should DEMAND bi-partisan support on this.

I don’t have time today, but if anyone has anything to contribute in regards to this bill, if McConnel had anything to say about it and why he shot it down, please post it.

Stuff like this should perturb people on both sides of the aisle.

I'm sure the DNC stuffed some other unrelated crap in the bill. That is always the game. Both sides do it. Name a the bill "Save our kids" and then put in so BS that has absolutely nothing to do with saving kids. Opposing party votes against and other party claims we don't want to save the kids....

FAKE NEWS

FLASHBACK SEPTEMBER 19, 2019

Mitch McConnell backs amendment approving $250 million for election security

he Kentucky Republican announced Thursday in a floor speech in advance of a Senate Appropriations Committee vote that he would support the funding, claiming the Trump administration has "made enormous strides" in protecting the nation's voting infrastructure.

"I am proud to have helped develop this amendment and to co-sponsor it in committee," McConnell said in his speech on the floor, noting that Congress has appropriated a total of $600 million dedicated to election security efforts since fiscal year 2018.
The committee's top Democrat, Patrick Leahy, said "funding election security grants is a matter of national security."

In his floor speech, McConnell praised the bipartisanship of the amendment, saying: "This is exactly the kind of positive outcome that is possible when we stop posturing for the press and let Chairman [Richard] Shelby and Senator Leahy conduct a bipartisan committee process."

Just the Dems trying to bankrupt the USA wanting more and more money - so much was already appropriated they were just looking to feed MSM anti Republican fodder ... use your noodle

This is a great example of why we would like more of the promises made / promises kept legacy for president Trump. I suspect its why your seeing so many on the right and left pretending the fraud doesn't impact or doesn't exist. One of the big promises made by Trump was to get term limits for congress and the majority of congress right and left know they will be placed on the spot for voting against it in 2022. These folks like McConnell and Pelosi have no interest in serving their constituents but have manipulated the laws in their states and established themselves as household names as representative of the party as a whole.

You will see that come January the panic will be in for control of the senate and speaker of the house when they realize these new voters that have voted for Trump dont care if your an R or a D and we seek to change the dynamic of the swampy hold of politicians on our government.

The only reason Trump even carries an R by his name as president is because the two party system has locked out any possibility of a third party and that dynamic would quickly change if term limits came into play.

The crap packed into this bill is why it didnt pass, but thats because the R's know the world is watching and the Trump majority demands transparency and a stop to pork and sabotage to the intent of the bill.

Well, at least something was done.

I’m curious what they’re actually doing with that money, like how it’s actually being used to beef up security. Whatever was done, clearly it wasn’t enough.

Apparently, they decided to forego the previous bill’s inclusion of ensuring every voting machine left a paper trail, which surely would have helped the situation we’re in now.

I can't find the name of the two bills. Has anyone?

This is all I can find.

The second, presented by Senator Richard Blumenthal, would require political candidates and their staff and family members to notify the FBI about any offers of assistance from foreign governments.

Sounds good but I want to read the entire thing.

I’ll try to jump on it tonight when I get home, if i ever do. I’m very curious to see these two bills.

As much as I’m for reducing government spending, I’m more for effective spending (which will reduce spending in itself). Unfortunately, I do not trust the two parties to do what is right with our money. In this particular scenario, McConnel comes out looking good because he spent $250,000,000 instead of $750,000,000, but was that money well spent? Would have caused us less headaches in the future to spend more?

No, this is actually just him wanting to get us to pay for Dominion 2.0. Have to make sure to squash any bugs that can expose the fraud.

Thanksfully, the person who noticed this 'glitch in MI was honest, stopped the counting, and actually resolved it, causing the county to flip to Trump as it should have been.

Every other county will flip too, once this is exposed, and those votes gone through looking for the same things...

Any Democrat proposed spending bill is just funneling money to their supporters. Nothing else.

Agreed. Where's the bill and what else was in it? I've seen this BS show from the Dems and the media a few too many times to just take it at face value.
