China launched the experimental satellite that had next-gen 6G technology on-board the Long March 6 carrier rocket, firing it up into orbit from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in China's northern Shanxi Province on Friday. China launched the 6G part alongside 12 other satellites.

The "UESTC" satellite aka Star Era-12 was named after the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, with the new 6G satellite being used to test the performance of 6G frequency band in space.

China launches the world's first 6G satellite into space to test first 6G frequency band in space, 6G up to 100X faster than 5G

Beat by the CCP again.

I bet Musk is sending up 12G and it is classified.

If 5G caused the covid, just think what 6G (and 12G) will do.

If 5g causes Covid China Virus then 6g causes the China Zombie Apocalypse.

Might as well bend over and kiss our zombie asses goodbye.

We should be OK for awhile.

I am stocked up anyways.

Don't be delusional. The 6g will pass right through your tin foil hat. There is no hope.

In fact, it doesn't just pass through the tin foil it rolls it up into a little Chinese hand giving you the finger.

they might have to start lining their tin fol hats with lead.

What would you be running that needs more bandwidth than 5G?

They must have some cool things planned for us.

They need it for nano-technology. Fiberoptic cables will soon be obsolete.

nano-magazine.com...

“With the advent of 5G, and then 6G, 7G and beyond nanotechnology will allow incredible amounts of data to pass via digital assets in a nano second. However, many countries are now gearing up for 5G by digging up most of our cities to put in new faster fibre optic cable. It is our view and many others that this fibre optic cable will become obsolete within a few years as millimeter wave technology using nano scale innovation will allow us to transmit unlimited amounts of data safely through the airwaves rather than via cumbersome fibre cable without the associated cost and disruption to our urban infrastructures. This will be much faster and cheaper virtual fibre network that will be able to communicate, process and deliver securely to any digital eco system or asset within a nano second. The financial benefits on our future smart cities, infrastructure and economies will be unprecedented.

At The World Nano Foundation, we are working with ex-NASA engineers alongside some of the world’s leading telecoms companies to bring this commercially ready innovation to the digital economy. This will allow for trillions of transactions to run seamlessly across multiple digital or physical assets. The technology was first used for communication networks between space and earth via the space station.“

I not even know how many "G"s my phone has and no clue what that means but I want it because it's a trend and I want to look fancy.

Bidens operational systems needed an upgrade.

He'll be running smoothly after a quick re-boot.

You do know the “g” is for generation and not for gigahertz right? You do know 3G,4G,5g(the frequency bandwidths used by these ) have been used in mass globally by government and military for around 50 years already. Way way way way before the tech came to rest in the palm of your hand.

I imagine we'll all have great internet for any device anywhere on earth. Maybe even under one bill instead of multiple... Screw the cable monopolies, bring on the future lol.

Well 5g is a set of corporate proprietary standards for a bunch of currently existing open technology...what is 6g exactly?

Says its up to 100x faster than 5g in the link text in the OP - I don't know any more detail than that, as I don't GaF, but I figure, in the near future, our corporate overlords envision nearly every physical object being connected "The Internet of Things" - so that everything can collect data and make assumptions based on said data.

If my 7G-connected shoe laces report that they have a 30% likelihood of breaking soon, the holographic ads that hover in front of my face, sponsoring my "free air", will start incorporating links to order shoe laces. If I wait until they're about 50%, my irresponsibility with shoelaces is going to start affecting my social credit score.

Lord knows how many D-pix I'll have to send to CongressCretins to get my score back up enough to be allowed to eat again. This is assuming I avoid hail time when my socks report my big toenail lint to the Authority.

So I suppose my 300 baud modem won't be compatible with it?

I knew it would be used in swarm technology. For things like driverless cars, drones and bots.

Never thought of nano. I could see that using a lot of bandwidth.

Thank you for posting that information.

China winning the PR battle by sending a rocket up with some 6G experiments. All this shows is that the Chinese state is subsidising the development of 6G technology, thus supporting the claim that companies like Huawei benefit from, and are beholden to, the Chinese Comminist Party, if not fully controlled by the CCP.

Personally, I am pleased the UK is removing Huawei from 5G networks becuase the closer you look at the way China is setting this technology up, the more you you get uncomfortable.
