The Hiram Key gives a convincingly logic theory regarding the Templars and their connection to Roslyn, and possibly the Americas.

The book also concludes that Roslyn Chapel is also a mirror image of Solomon's Temple (from memory, I think it was the one from Herod's time) and it gives a visual comparison with a diagram.

The best explanation I've heard for all this goes as such:

1) All through history, there have been men that have thought a certain way. There is a natural tendancy among men to band together with those of like interest, so logically there have been many groups in history with that certain outlook.

2) As a whole, society builds upon our previous accomplishments. The Templars, for example, developed a method of credit accounting that is similar to our modern techniques. One could certainly say that Templar influence exists in our modern banking system... but it would be dubious to claim that Templars created the bank down on the corner.

3) Value is placed in things being 'ancient'. It sounds much more impressive to say 'we've been doing this for a million years' rather than 'we came up with this last week'.

So, the Templars and the Speculative Masons have some common interests, and as such developed as similar organizations. The Masons borrowed a few symbols and principles from the earlier order, because they fit - why reinvent the wheel? And at the same time, by adopting these ancient designs, the Masons added an ancient feel to the order.

But did the Templars become the Freemasons? Wishful thinking, in my mind.

I believe it was the Discovery Channel that ran the program on the Templars (no doubt instigated by Sony for promoting tDVC) that indicated a specific part of Switzerland suddenly swelled with fierce warriors in the early 1300s. That the villagers were suddenly able to defend themselves decisively... the implication being that Templars fled there after being purged from France.

The implications also could be that the Swiss banking system originated with Templars.

So we have: a disappearing fleet, missing treasure, new arrivals in Scotland, rumored arrivals in the "new world," pirate mysteries, buried treasure and now a Swiss connection.

It's almost too good to be true. But so much of it can be documented... I wonder if there are scholarly efforts to tie up the loose ends and lay out the entire saga.

If there are tangible links, ie. the Sinclair family of Rosslyn fame, and evidence that supports the Templars taking refuge in Scotland, etc., which there is, then it is starting to grow into something more plausible than wishful thinking. I have read dozens of works on the subject, together they expose more than a few such bits of supporting evidence. If Masons are not directly from them, as they themselves say, then by coincidence, they sure have a lot of commonalities.
PS, thanks stalkingwolf.

Skull and Bones has nothing to do with Masonry. They try to imitate Mason ceremony but are not affiliated with us in any ways. It's like saying that the kid in the Green Lantern costume on Halloween is a member of the Justice League. As much as they may wish it to be it s not so.

Without a doubt....take a look at the amount of skull and cross bones gravestones at the main Templar fortress on the Island of Rhodes...Cannot remeber if the order was the Hospitallers?.... Iam a stonemason not a historian. Also found a stone sphere dish with lines of latitude and Longtitude going round the interior. Skull and bones has always been assosiated with the Templars and the freemasons through Scottish rite. We know from sea charts recovered from areas that the templars orders were operating in..that the pirate bretheren had access to the same maps. Peri Reiss map? Much of this evidence resides in Turkey..it.is also safe to say that Templars worked with Arab and other islamic cultures who had advanced sea technology for the time. So there are links all over.

There is a book " pirates and the lost templar fleet" - the secret naval war between the knights templar and the vatican.

this book has a lot of good information,
there are many others i have read, persoanly sifting trogh them for ther truth,
has taken me 25 years.

" just look at the templar cross, then look at the symbol of the swiss bank."

the truth is alway s simple and right in front of us, we just have to look.

Originally posted by BlackGuardXIII...then there is Henry Sinclairs trips to Nova Scotia in the 1390's which are historically accepted now. These journeys were to the very stretch of coastline where Oak Island is, home to one of the most cunningly securely engineered deep pits ever noted. The Nova Scotia stone castle foundations that overlook Oak Island, and remain ignored by Nova Scotia and Canada archeologists to this day, are worth looking into too. There is another book about the Grail across the Atlantic. It has good information as well.

Sorry to be a poop, but there is no historical proof of Sinclair visiting Nova Scotia. Some wish to connect the Templars to Oak Island, but there is no proof there either. The Stone castle? Not there...it has been checked out and did not exist.

Now...Sinclair is a tempting possibility, but again, no proof.

Read "Born in Blood" by John J. Robinson. IMO the most compelling anecdotal evidence of the the templar perpetuation in masonry debate.

id just like to voice more of my ideal than my belief of who the freemasons as a body are. i think they are litterally freemen free thinkers indipendently free from supression of conformist thought of societys. ppl who throughout time helped each other in there qeust for truth and knowledge and perhaps grew more organized and more efficent and more grand .im not suprised at all about what happened on the 13th. church dosent like anyone that dosent conform to there agenda why would they need the use of strong willed free thinking men anymore especially if they grew to know of a highly contoversial discovery to the masons knowledge into something that challenged the churches ideals. the foot soldiers the men in the trenches in the great wars the ex navy men turned pirates the old pawns no longer needed downtrodden by the very goverment they served left to starve in horrid malnutritioned early 1700s of england thiefs on the seas turned revolutionists mad as they were .these were the everyday men like me and you .these men challenged the british navy itself not all but im talking in particular of captain Edward Teach as wretched or as justified as he may of been he lived free without fear of the english navy and all its men (even though the empire was a mess) id of fought against them and the church with him for all there sinns against the good ppl of albion and for simply challengeing the establishment that dishes out such foul play id Proudly fly his flag . and perhaps thats why the masons do to .lol my appolagize i think i went off a bit there . anyway thats my bit said ill just add this .. its also not unlikely that teach had interaction with the freemasons .theres acount of a unknown man being aboard the qeeun annes revenge for several days ,teaches understanding of history and his want to be rememberd ,his acumillated riches the whereabouts unknown qoute* only i and the devil knows* and his various meetings whilst in rest up that river in treaty with the governor .just groundless speculation of course but for anyone intrested in the aforementioned capatain life or origin. although its said he most likely came from the bristol area ive been informed by a very old distinguished gentlemen whos word ive never been able to falter .that teach infact hailed from scotland i cant find any historical or otherwise information that supports this theory other than the gentlemens word whos i know to be the purest .of course it also ties in with your masonic settlements in scotland and a hundred other avenues .i hope i havent added anymore conffussion to a allready overflowing tank.thanks for reading
