This is for youtube, and i was wondering if i could have copyright material but without the youtube monetization program.

The way i would do it is to put a cashapp and/or paypal account under the description and get 100% of the pay thru there.

The video would be free to watch but if the viewers become subscribers and want to donate, then alternative pay with cashapp or paypal would allow them to donate to me.

Yes, you need to offer exclusive material/videos to patreons. One of the channels I'm subscribed ask for one buck a month.

I think if one day I have video of something really remarkable, sell it to a media outlet is more profitable.

Some people also has multi-sequence tutorials where the introduction video is free on YouTube with a link to the next videos that they will have to pay for to view, if your video tutorials are good you can sell them online on your WIX website or whatever.

I have an educational YouTube channel (I haven't uploaded to it in years, it's served its purpose) with close to 4000 subscribers that's full of material that's not my own, and I wouldn't try to monetise it in any way, personally.

Although I no longer maintain it, it's a valuable source of information and I wouldn't want to risk videos being deleted, or worse (could someone be sued by the copyright holders if they caught wind? I have no idea?).

You do you, but I wouldn't.

Whatever you decide, good luck

Are you talking about making money off someone else's copyrighted material or your own?

Because it sounds like you're asking if you can bypass youtubes copyright protection and host videos on youtube while monetizing them in a different way.

If that's what you're trying to do, good luck, youtube will still block copyrighted stuff even if your channel is not monetized and you'll get a strike against the account.

My entire channel is comprised of copyrighted material and it's still up after years, I think it falls into the fair use category though, I've never tried to make a penny off it either, so maybe that helps, not sure.

It's weird sometimes. I've got a few music mixes up on youtube of all other people's songs. One got hit with a copyright strike for one song near the end. That one song also got muted by youtube. I was also personally messaged by someone and asked to take a remix down also, but never got hit for it.

I've never monitized my channel, but i've noticed ads in a few of my videos. I think copyright holders can choose to monetize your videos themselves if their stuff is in it.

I'm honestly not too sure. When you start profiting off it though I'd be careful either way, not just from youtube, but the actual copyright holders.
