I have friends working in southern China, around and near Hong Kong. Masks are not required, they haven't been required for months.

Unlike the USA, they have a choice to NOT wear a mask.

COVID is passe in southern China.

I'll add, people in southern China are more patriotic than Democrats.

There is no national mask mandaTe in the usa. It is a fairly partisan policy limited to districts run primarily by democrats and Republican never trumpers.

Heck, outside of many big cities, life is still fairly normal. The majority of what you see and hear about such oppression is limited to the insane asylums run by the folks I just mentioned.
