Frictional Games Releases Source Code for Amnesia Games

For those who don't know Amnesia the Dark Descent is a psychological survival horror game released about ten years ago now. As far as those kinds of games go, it's pretty damn good. It's one of those games that'll give you shivers up your spine played in a dark room alone.

Frictional Games, the creators, have decided to open source the code for Amnesia series. As far as I know, this is a similar kind of source release as doom, original assets are required to build the game. But it seems that they're actively looking for contributors and hopefully this leads to some cool enhancements, mods, or even entire forks of the game. A libre fork in the vein of freedoom would be pretty awesome.

This is cool news, open source usually leads to better improvements.

This game was so good I couldn't play it for more than 15 minutes, LOL way too freaky for me, kept wondering where I could find a weapon.

If they did more of an escape room theme with this, I may be more interested
