How did the CIA lose track of 2 terrorists?

Back in 2000 there was a Al-Qaeda summit in Kuala Lumpur which resulted in the attacks on the USS Cole and 9/11. The two lead hijackers of AA77 went to Thailand and there the CIA supposedly lost them. That's if you subscribe to the Oops theory. According to Richard Clarke he suspects the agency were trying to flip al-Hazmi and al-Mihdar what a coup it would have been for them and a way to finally wrest domestic intelligence away from the FBI. Back when non of the federally run agencies collaborated at all. They did to a certain extent, but just pushed issues onto each other instead of flagging a possible risk. I think it was a huge wake up call in terms of reshaping how information was sent, received and digested throughout the government entity that needs to address the issues, and from then on a more connected intelligence standard was made.

How does one lose track of their keys ?

They didn't wanna share this with the FBI because the CIA has always wanted control of domestic intelligence. They also never thought these guys would pull this off.

Can someone explain building 7? Many can theorize it. But no person can give me an answer.

Since all three steel frame buildings fell straight down. Controlled demolition of course. By foreign and or domestic enemies. Building seven was the obvious one. They just didn't bother to investigate it. They just covered it up for some reason.

CDI has been a problem since i joined ATS. I understand pancakes 1 and 2. 7 has always been
a problem. Way before a nut job out of Austin pointed it out. It's now September 2020, and nobody on ATS has a rationale for this.

They lost track of everything, except some magic fireproof passports.

Lot of paper items from American 11 survived the impact and were blown out of the aircraft to be picked up on the streer

Mail and cargo hold are in the middle of the aircraft. Did the hijacker leave his passport there, or did it really somehow survive the initial impact, since the hijacker was in the cockpit (North Tower) head on, and land in pristine condition on the street below AND be found by an "unkown" entity, then handed to the police!

Actually no. This has been the fire proof argument since 9/11. The wallets and passports were reportedly the VERY First items found. Purportedly. Dont stop digging. Yes cowboys love the leather. But from how many stories up did it fall?

This is another issue I've had. Plane parts and building debris. Why was that found by FBI and or NYPB right away?

Don't be discouraged, after 19 years I'd love a new take.

CIA spreading fake lies and stories for years.

How do you lose track of people spending money, taken from ATM machine in a county or state, there renting apartments in their names,, driving around, seen by people often. The CIA decided to keep everybody out of the loop and that includes bodies at the FBI and the White House. Then everyone woke up to see 9/11 on TV.

CIA was running an unsanctioned intel operation that still to this day they haven’t shared the details with the America public and wider world. The men were using the names in the VISAs they travelled to the United states with, they were not using fake names. Be an idiot to believe they could not locate the men quickly if they wanted to. There not lot of Saudis men with those set of unique names inside America. You not looking for white men here. Saudis would be easily be found with a widespread bulletin to all law enforcement to locate and find them. The CIA should be broken up into million pieces for what they caused here.

This is an interesting story of John O’Neil. He warned the FBI about foreign terrorists, was ignored, got frustrated and quit.

He started his job as head of security at the World Trade Center the day of the attack!

This is the Frontline special on him and they “wonder out loud” about the trial starting that week, gold stored in a vault, and #7.

The passport was found on the street allegedly after the first plane hit. Both towers were standing not yet collapsed when someone came along handed it over to a police officer. We don’t know who this person who handed the passport over to the officer was. We are left with unknowables and puzzles. While it possible it may have taken place it still had to escape the inside of the plane. The passport allegedly found on Vesey street so it would have to be blown sideways to the left, a couple of streets away. Typically, the passport in a shirt, pants, or bag, so it seems unbelieveable the passport just jumped out of his clothes or bag ands went straight through the fireball outside the plane and got shot over to two streets away on a Sunny not windy day?
