So I got up today to hear that there is a hearing going on about George Floyd, I don't know who this judge is but he sounds incompetent.
I live about 20 minutes from Minneapolis and debating right now if I should be heading down to the courthouse.
Things that are bothering me is that the judge has ruled that previous arrest and criminal charges CANNOT be used as evidence. Then after the attorneys for the officers mentioned that they had to move out of their homes because of attacks and threats, asked that the jurors identities be protected, he denied it.
This Judge sounds like a social media justice advocate. You can bet that if you don't vote correctly, you will pay. Foresight into our election?

Am I wrong for thinking past drug charges could affect further interactions and that the cops should have been prepared for drugs?

Those are inadmissible for the court proceedings unless one or more of those officers were involved and even then it would be of more use to the prosecution. The case is what happened that day.

So they all- the officers involved, and Floyd, got to that case, that day, in a vacuum? It seems at least a little silly to not take into consideration past interactions they had.

I just said, twice as a matter of fact, that if they did have past interactions involving criminality that they would most likely be admissible. .

Be clearer for us dummies out here.

Unless the previous cases are directly related then they cannot be used as evidence.
