An olfactory hallucination (phantosmia) makes you detect smells that aren't really present in your environment. The odors detected in phantosmia vary from person to person and may be foul or pleasant. They can occur in one or both nostrils. The phantom smell may seem to always be present or it may come and go.

Last Wednesday afternoon I started to smell exhaust fumes everywhere.
I was smelling this odor in my house,my car and while shopping in the
grocery store wearing my mask. I called my doctor and she placed me on
antibiotics. They do seem to help some and I looked up on the web for
anything about this. Some people posted that taking vitamin B complex
helped them.
This morning I woke up with nausea and a rushing sensation in my head.
I am getting ready to call my doctor back with an update on these new
symptoms.I will give an update as soon as I can. This smell hits me in waves
and makes me feel sick to my stomach.I do want to say that this hasn't kept
me from sleeping at night, sleep seems to help. If anyone else here has had
the same thing happen to them please let me know.

I wish you well and hope this is only temporary. I did find something called Phantosmia.

Antibiotics?
That's so reckless.
Fire that Dr immediately.
This could be a tiny misfire of an olfactory sensor.
What kind of honey do you have? What did the bees make it from?
I prescribe you to eat 1 spoon of each honey you have and see if this fixes it within 24hours.
In the meantime I will find more info ok?
I want you to eat the honey right now regardless if you think it works or not.
