Light blinds [CT2020]

With a few words, this is story is quickly told,
about someone, sitting in the cold.

„We're alone, around the fire, in the light, at night“
he mumbled, held tight.

Far away in the distance,
a pair of eyes locked onto the flickering yellow,
approaching the fellow,
doing it's natural dance.

The thing is, future is always different than you think,
and so, the man didn't expect that hoodwink.

For in the dark, there's good sight,
though when you're in the light,
the vision is always finite.

This is why the guy never noticed the damselfly, that passed by.

See you in the other thread, I made the mistake and replied to Zosimov's poem because I did not refresh the pages. I pulled it but was out of mojo because I used it already for the said post.
