I keep saying this but I may stop because no one seems to be paying attention or cares:

We have never had a "popular vote" for President in the US. We vote for electors for our individual states. This system influences voter behavior differently than a "popular vote" would. It encourages many people to not vote at all. That is, it has the effect of suppressing voting for president.

For example, if I live in Montana, it's going solid Red, so I might not be bothered to drive 30 miles to a polling place in a rainstorm, because my vote won't matter - the state is going Red with my Red vote or not.

Similarly, if I live in Oregon, that's going Blue whether I vote Red or not. I might just stay home and not vote out of frustration.

This is that "Red/Blue" map the news puts up on election day - it's the electoral college, not the voting totals.

And the voting totals are incorrectly referred to as "popular vote" because we don't have a popular vote for President. To say that Hillary won the "popular vote" but lost the electoral vote is ignorant of the process, because it just is not a popular vote system; that is, the candidate with the most votes wins. And when she says it, it's just an outright lie if she doesn't know this.

Literally, your vote may not actually count toward electing a president, because once your color, Red or Blue, has +1 in your state, all your electors go for that candidate, and a million more votes for that candidate, in that state, won't change that.

So can we all stop saying "popular vote"?

They've reviewed the virus and it's their opinion it was created in a lab.

There's no actual evidence from the lab or eyewitness reports from lab employees that it was man-made.

And if you read her report, there's a lot of "maybe, could be, possibly" type hedging in it.

Words matter.

That’s the problem. The Chinese (supported by WHO) failed to let CDC people in right away which would have allowed for the best chance to identify source.

While there’s no proof it was “lab made” - the fact the only Level 4 bio lab in China is 2 miles from that market, it’s highly probable (words matter) it’s lab created.

My $ on lab created but accidentally escaped.

If it was a designed killer, it’s an epic fail. Cuomo killed as many as the virus.

Did he jump from a bridge? It is easy to drown accidentally in a rain event or hitting the water from high up, but it is hard to drown on purpose. Your body fights to live.

I just know that this doctor's report is full of hedging language, that it's based on their supposedly isolating then dissecting the virus, and she has no direct evidence it was man made other than supposition.

To say "we're going to war with China" over this lady's report is over the top and doesn't help the situation.

The key is interesting. It has long been contended Israel, or MOS, had a key to the White House, just a backdoor key.

Symbolically a Key is a big deal in this context, as it implies trust. I know "keys to the city" nonsense, but this is different to me. Who or what else has a "key?" Never heard of this.

I had no idea Gates was still alive.
