A little blast from the past. A nicely done video on the Lockheed AH-56 Cheyenne copter.

The video also goes into the rigid rotors testing that eventually incorporated into the AH-56.

Shame it was never made.

This is not normally my cup of tea but is fascinating.
It's bizarre to me how far a project can go, and then just get scrapped. As opposed to just building 50 of the things, as it was a PROVEN concept.

I'm surprised China just didn't make 1000 of them.

The USAF thought it came a little TOO close to stepping on their toes and so we got the A-10 instead.
