Now this is a grow operation, very similar to the Molson brewery grow operation that was busted a few years back.
All the more reason to legalize it,

Greenhouse fire reveals large marijuana growing operation in Niagara region
WAINFLEET, Ont. (CP) - A large marijuana grow operation was discovered in the Niagara-area early Tuesday by firefighters responding to a greenhouse fire.
Each greenhouse measured about six metres by 60 metres there are 14 of them

The electrical system had shorted out and there was a number of spot fires throughout all the greenhouses caused by electrical shorts wherever the wire crossed a pipe," Wainfleet fire chief Tom Cartwright told Hamilton television station CHCH.
It is still unknown how many plants and who was involved at this time

From early video footage it may compare to the Molson's operation.

Thousands and thousands of marijuana plants, being cultivated with sophisticated watering and chemical grow devices, are believed to be on the site — an 11,250-square-metre building located in an industrial area. The police have never seen a grow operation of this magnitude.

Ugg we really have to find a way to get control of this industry from the criminals. How to do it I have no clue. Legalization would be a good second step but DuesEx pointed something out to me that made me think.

Yah same boat right here, it'll take some decisive compaigning to straighten out our system. I think we'll find that having it illegal only makes criminals richer, while the government could be profiting from it. Centralized regulation and distribution would make things much safer and profitable

Legalization would be a good second step but DuesEx pointed something out to me that made me think.

Whats that?

Basically he said if we legalize it now it would make the Hell's Angels a multi-billion dollar orginization
That is where most of the Grade A pot comes from(and goes straight to the US, Canadians never see the stuff as G13 goes for 450 and Oz. in New York supposedly, up here its 220 thats more then a 100 % profit for smugglers...)

Wow I never looked at it from that angle. I should've realized that because of that public outcry over the Canadian governments pot. Supposedly it was some very disgusting stuff, from the picture I could tell it was very poor potency. Perhaps the government needs a larger portion of the budget to be placed into hydroponic equipment and try to be as corporate as possible. Provide the customers with a potent alternative to the bikers dope and we could start with that.

that's a lot of pot. You know, I'd have to agree that legalizing pot would be a good idea. Not only would it government regulated so that the quality is better, the government can also use some of that money to help with our debt problem. That and cops would be able to devote more time to other programs that would be more helpful to the community.

Hydroponics is nothing new and 14 grow ops is a drop in the bucket.... heck your neighbor is very likely doing it .

There was a large police action on a Montreal Suburb
www.ctv.ca...

it later came out that these homes were actually "built to spec" for grow ops by the local builder.

The cost of setting an operation is minimal vs the potential return vs the chance of getting caught!

The RCMP have a comprehensive report that talks about the scope of the problem and can be found at
www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Profitability

One of the main reasons why marihuana cultivation has become so popular over the years is without a doubt its high profitability. With a comparatively small initial investment, the grower can potentially reap profits of well over $1,000,000 within the first year for an operation capable of producing a few hundred plants of high quality marihuana about every three months.

One word = Scary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Until the demand is gone the problem will flourish like...well... weed in a garden
