And FDR hid his polio as much as he could.
From a goddamned wheelchair!?!?!
What is your personal experience with polio in the 30+ years prior to the Disability Act?
I was 5 when my mother had polio. So, I personally experienced the prejudice against the disabled for many years.
That FDR had polio — means what exactly? You’re just blowing smoke.

If the city license says mural, then it’s a mural by their definition.

No smoke, just saying your mother's experience with Polio doesn't indicate the US was prejudiced against the disabled... seems like you're arguing that FDR's experience doesn't indicate that they weren't prejudiced, but then he became President of the United States via popular election while openly suffering from Polio and your mother, well, did not. So it means your perspective is skewed.

Did you know churches are still not required to accommodate the disabled? Yeah, they fought for that exemption.

As well they should be. As should every other non-public sector facility/business/organization. Churches depend on the same factors as a business or marketplace, so I'm 100% in favor of allowing the market to decide whether an location permits or excludes anybody they choose, with the enterprise taking 100% of the risk of backlash if they make the wrong choice.
Regardless of it, I still reject your claim of Polio disabled being treated poorly by most of America. Hell, way back then a single mother (which I gather was the case) was treated like a leper based on that fact alone. Perhaps that played a role.
