Why is "Black" capitalized while "white" is not?

I see that at least one of your examples include headlines in which all words are capitalized.

For example:

US Officers Sacked After Photo Imitating Chokehold On Black Man Surfaces

While the article itself says:

Two US police officers have been fired after a photo emerged showing them re-enacting a chokehold used on a black man before he died at a memorial site to his death, Colorado police said in a statement.

So, settle down. White folk are covered too.

That is not true now many times black is not stated and one must dig deeper to find that fact out.

I wonder how many white people will be offended by this
post?

If you're offended in any way I'd love to hear about it?

anyways, she asks me, 'are you a feminist?'
to which i reply, i do not need to be, everyone is equal in my book.

to which she replied, 'thats not good enough.'

I've been victim to the either/or for capitalization myself, but in general, I try to NOT capitalize colors, its not necessary. Places like oh, London, location/country origins such as Australian, ethnic origins/cultures such as Inuit, etc, I capitalize.

Our origins aren't out of the Crayola box, FFS, it's not stamped on our proverbial paper wrapper (clothes). Yet.

Doll, I though you knew some geography! They come from Blackistan and are technically called Blackistani but have shortened it to Black or Blacks.

I only capitalize either if the word is part of the name of an organization or group. Otherwise, it's just an adjective, and not worthy of capitalization. I don't think it's worth struggling about.
