Freemasonry in its original form certainly had a lot to do with controlling demons, along with other esoteric stuff like math and mechanics.. There was at least one book written about Solomon's sorcery skills, and even the "Egyptian prophet" aka Yeshua by way of Nazareth, who was no slouch when it came to sorcery and necromancy himself, bragged that he was even better at it (although he was proven to be wrong). A crown of thorns sounds a lot like a demon containment device.
So maybe these people or the demons inside them are curious about your potential power. Sizing up the competition.
I used to be more skeptical of those "aliens/demons walking among us" notions until I really started to think about how unobservant people are all but a tiny fraction of the time. We're taught not to stare at "odd" people. We walk through life with blinders. That is a perceptual problem and may or may not prove anything about the real existence of such things -- lurking at the periphery of crowds, walking grocery store ailes at 3am, etc. It's rational to think it's all nonsense, but it's also logical to assume that a lot of crazy stuff can happen when we're not looking.

Your avatar quetzalcoatl is actually the Mayan depiction of Satan. He must be some sort of multi-dimensional serpent-like being, at least per their descriptions, and also Judeo-Christianity.
