What a buncha flippin morons. Those people have concrete for brains. It was obvious from the get go. But the scary part is that the world is treating them as though they're not mentally challenged.

Makes you wonder how many rapes, thefts, assaults etc. are being covered up in that place. It's not like lawless environment, specifically ones like the music festival environment they're trying hard to deny that place resembles, aren't rife with those problems as is.

The fact that no action has taken place to put down the insurrection answers your question. Sure there is a hierarchy of people that should have done something but they have not. Inaction on the part of the mayor and the governor has allowed this to continue. My opinion, show strength and resolve to uphold the law when no one else.

The Occupy Movement was pretty rife with sexual assaults and STD’s. This probably is no different.

Here's the first thing I saw as I entered the "zone" from southern entrance this morning 9 am, no armed guards, no guards at all, just tourists taking pics and gawking, then the depressed locals wandering around in a daze looking at all the damage and grafitti. There was one angry crackhead swinging a stick at the western entrance at Pine yelling "see?! my stick is the barrier!!!" There were a few tents with signs that read "Feeling threatened? lets talk about it" and tons of dreaddy hippies and masked looters.

The main message in most the grafitti was # the cops, kill the police, free the looters and rioters, we love looters (???), Durkin is a pig, burn the precint end it all (their sp not mine) and of course ACAB

I couldn't find the famous racist garden since it was on the upper fields behind the reservior and tons of tents and protesters getting prefunked for the evening riots im sure.

But yeah it was kind of like an urban burning man on meth and crack, no real ideas being formed, the summer of love in capitol hill smelled of fear (locals and businesses who dont appreciate this and feel threatened) and lazyness (tons of unguided restless young people with no real idea what theyre doing, just fidgeting and mumbling to their cohorts).

A lot of businesses were still open but heavily vandalized, and not much business. It was like tourists were taking pics of a trainwreck they didnt plan on staying long at and just left, I mean they are not going inside a coffeeshop or store if they cant see in the windows because they are boarded up!!

I'd love to post more pics but i cant upload anymore for some reason, maybe later I can solve this.

Looking through my pics the one I didnt get was the INTENSELY huge pile of garbage bags, like 20' x 40' x 8' high, they were accumulating it at warp speeds it seems like. As I was rounding the second barricade I saw a masked local who was standing at some services tent and she waved at a garbage truck as it went by. The garbage men wont go in there and it's really start to show.

Now we need some summer heat to cook that garbage up nice, where are those seagulls coming from?

You have no idea how weird this is to me, it's dawning on me THAT'S why our entire retail district downtown looks like a boarded up racecourse and now we have hundreds of protesters taking over our weakest cop station since they aren't allowed to do ANYTHING. Our cops here are not horrible and most are just doing their jobs, well they were until this sh!t happens.

I'm not going to war with our hard working local law, this is a storm brewed to make sure nobody feels like they are justified or right and makes sure more conflict happens. I don't like any of this, but it has me paying attention

Maybe they changed their name because someone clued them in on this FEDERAL statute:

18 U.S. Code § 2385.Advocating overthrow of Government

Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government; or

Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of any such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States by force or violence, or attempts to do so; or

Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof—

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.

If two or more persons conspire to commit any offense named in this section, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.

As used in this section, the terms “organizes” and “organize”, with respect to any society, group, or assembly of persons, include the recruiting of new members, the forming of new units, and the regrouping or expansion of existing clubs, classes, and other units of such society, group, or assembly of persons.

They changed the name to avoid being charged with treason, rebellious acts, sedition, etc...

Too late, imo. Call it what you want, it's still CHAZ.

Well, it seems residents of the Republic of CHAZ have had a change of heart. They have now supposedly rebranded their movement as CHOP, or Capital Hill Organized Protest (CHOP). It seems they may have rethought the whole succession from the US mantra. OOPS!! I guess they realized maybe they need the US after all, that maybe they're not quite as "autonomous" as they thought. Imagine that!

CHAZ changes name to CHOP

I thought this quote from the article was particularly amusing...

“We’re noticing a lot of tourists coming in and some of the narratives are getting lost with all the extra added energy,” said Cola. “We’re trying to keep the focus. This is not Coachella.

(emphasis by me)

This, apparently all in preparation for changing their name to CHEEZ (Capital Hill Estrogen Enema Zone).

I wonder what it will become after that?
