Better they sink their own ship with their incompetence before they get out in the real world and start a war.

No. The ones that use the gunboats are the IRGC. This was the Iranian Navy. The two aren't the same.

According to reports today, the Jamaran fired at a target released by the Komarak, which was too close to the target. The missile simply tracked the wrong target.
