I have too many unfinished games , first world problem I know but when a bargain comes along you can either grab it with both hands or let it pass you by then deal with the remorse of missing the deal , so too many unfinished games +1.

Wouldn't say I'm a fan of the series but I do like the Assassin's Creed games I've played , AC2 , Black Flag and Unity to be precise so when AC Odyssey was released to positive acclaim I decided to pick it up on sale at some point in the future , today is that point as Green Man Gaming have Odyssey on sale for just £14.

Did some due diligence then went to my go to youtube reviewer ACG to refresh my memory , deal sealed.

So while it's installing I thought I'd pass on the news of the deal to anyone who like me was interested in the game and ask if anyone here has played the game and for thoughts on the game.

For Sparta !!!!

I played it. It was pretty good. Honestly, my biggest gripe with a lot of the AC games in general is the controls, etc have gotten too complex. I guess I am more of a run and shoot type of guy.

The size of the maps in AC are pretty extraordinary though. A ton of side missions and things/loot to find.

Well, my company is putting me in a hotel for 2 weeks because we have an outbreak of the virus here at the mine site.
My wife is bringing my Xbox to the hotel for me.
I’ll have nothing but time for 2 weeks.
I was planning on playing the division 2 Expansion and elite dangerous, but will probably download this AC game to try out.

Really?! It's a long game?
Awesome, that's exactly what I need.
Elite dangerous is fun and all, but it gets repetitive jumping from star to star over and over again.

AC Games are super long because there are so many side missions and exploration. The best parts of the game are doing side missions and discovering loot and all the nooks and crannies of the maps. The story line is secondary imho.

HUGE game, a semi RPG hybrid as well but with only two playable characters a brother and a sister, not going to give any spoilers but though the story is a bit odd it is great exploring a version of Ancient Greece, even if it is not a too scale one it is still huge and very well done.

Currently have my character running around in a set of ancient Mycenaean armor and using Poseidon's trident as my main weapon.

Sneak, Climb, Persuade, Press Gang instead of kill characters to built up your ship's crew and you have many choices as you progress through the game that can affect later mission's.

Oh and it has it's own NWO for you to fight albeit a smaller and more primitive one and some great expansions and mysteries to unlock and explore an it's own peculiar alternative universe as you slowly turn your character into a Greek demi god type being, also you get to wield ancient artifacts of Greek hero's from legend that you may find or Aquire on your travel's, fighting a big pig still makes me chuckle but you will get that when you find it.

Also the singing ship's crew may make you start to like sea chantey's all over again and for me well I love using the ship to ram pirate ship's, you can board them for a fight and better loot if you disable them but mostly I just drop them into davey jones locker (Sorry Poseidon Chest) with another ramming attack - collect everything you see that you can, don't be seen stealing or bounty's will be put on your character and the same if you go all out pirate and attack just anyone you like on the sea - personally I like it, better engine and exploration than Skyrim though the tomb's can become a bit repetitive as you search for ancient stele in them - and find the odd interesting artifact.

Good graphic's, huge open-ish world, historic sites or re-imagining's of them to explore, I never liked the first Assassin's creed but this one I like and am even tempted to go and get Origin's but this is a bit RPG and periodically saving Marcus (you will meet him very early on) from tangles he has gotten himself into is light humor.

I like it, still got to do a play through with the sister apparently both story's differ but am no where near to finishing the brother play through.

On another note I had to laugh at how Bethesda are trying to rope people back into 76 with a new release that I believe they may be adding NPC's to, I was a fan of the fallout game's but avoided that one like the plague so shall be watching to see what people make of that.

I'm not sure if it's possible to download Black Flag one one of the consoles, but, if you can.... Do it!

It's an ATSer's dream. You can even find the Voynich Manuscript!

I haven't tried the new one yet, but the last one, Origins was beautiful. They are now seemingly injecting it with SJW type stuff, but they still look great.

You may be as old as I am when completed , so be careful..
How Long to Beat has it pegged as
Quick run-through - 40 hours
Main and extra - 78 hours
Completionist - 124 hours
Average - 84 hours

The last AC game I played was Unity.
Before that was Black Flag.

My wife dropped my Xbox off at the hotel I’m now staying at for 2 weeks.
I absolutely hate having to download games.
I feel so ripped off paying full price for digital DL’s.
But... gonna start downloading it now.

3 hours in and yeah , good game , graphics are lush and gameplay feels refined over what I remember of Unity ... there's an abundance of loot and the influences of The Witcher 3 are clear to see , which isn't a bad thing.

Thumbs up from me.

In-game bugs aside, I loved playing Assassin's Creed Origins. The game made leaps in graphics and gameplay. I ended up disappointed and extremely annoyed with Assassin's Creed Odyssey. My chief complaint was against Odyssey's combat system. The same issues that annoyed me in previous games re-appeared. I enjoy the freedom to take enemy AI via stealth, poison darts and berserk darts. Berserk darts are absent from Odyssey, and the combat system is limiting.

Heck, if I want to waste waves of bad guys, I will breakout the Wolfenstein games on my PS4. In all fairness, I do like Odyssey's historical settings. I did enjoy Odyssey in patches before the annoyances got the better of me. Other than side quests, I didn't enjoy Far Cry New Dawn at all. New Dawn's storyline is just plain awful. One of New Dawn's storyline missions is unplayable.

Kudos for the time and effort you put into your game reviews.
