John Prine, one of the most influential artists in folk and country music, has died at age 73 following a battle with coronavirus, his family told The Associated Press and other outlets.

I've introduced many people to Prine's music and every one of them said basically the same thing "Damn, why didn't I ever hear of this guy before ? ". I remember being about 14 when my best friend's older brother introduced us to it and I became an instant lifelong fan and have followed his career ever since.

RIP John Prine. You will be missed.

Well, I am not really a fan of Country music, but I have listened to some of his work and even (shock horror) bought a couple of his CDs. Another decent and talented musician has gone.

Indeed a master songwriter and performer, one of a kind. Sad this virus is what took him down..
A couple of my favorites:

This one my girlfriend turned me onto and made us laugh:

RIP, condolences to his family/friends and we all know he certainly left his mark on the world

My friend's mom used to manage him and he also played with him on occasion, he was pretty upset about this last night.
