The idea that Satan is evil and fell from Heaven comes mostly from The New Testament. Many Jews still have a "Book of Job" type of view, where Satan is bad for humans since he brings temptation but he is not evil to Yahweh-Jehovah since he is under his power and is a part of his plan. Also, Satan can move around the world and go back to Heaven just like angels in The Book of Job, which is how he went to Heaven and had a discussion with Yahweh-Jehovah about Job and how he got permission to test Job.

The book of Job is in the Tanakh which is not Christian but is Orthodox Judaic theology. The reason Satan is not accepted in their liturgy is that most all Jewish understanding was greatly influenced by the Sadducees in the days of Jesus. The Sadduceees did not believe in an afterlife or the salvation of the soul in an afterlife. They believed that what you see now is all you will ever get. Once dead is always dead with no physicality involved.

With that belief foremost in their lives they could then deny a death and resurrection of a Christ as well as a fallen angel known as Satan. The Satan was a created entity that killed the soul of creation under the direction of God but not in malice of any sort. Angels could not sin in their belief but did the will of their creator without like or dislike. This was the influence that the rulers of Jerusalem had in the days of Jesus.

This has changed very little with most Orthodox Jews of today in that if angels can not sin then the Christian Satan was a myth as well as their Jesus. So in Job the Judaic thought is that if Satan is evil then Christianity could be true and Judaism was wrong.

Judaism is wrong according to The Gospel of John because Judaism rejected Jesus Christ as God in the flesh (John 1).


Judaism uses Hebrew but the language that was used for writings about Jesus was Greek. Jews worship a different deity named Yahweh-Jehovah.

Yea, Anceint Judaism does seem very crude, especially when it came to their own law system an would be very similar to countries that enforce Sharia Law. Guess one could thank Christ for that.

As for Jesus exuding light, ether it must of meant he was bright man, or he really was a super sayian.
