Exactly.

Now we have all these politicians complementing each other. A month ago, they were ready to take this country to civil war, over their supposed hatred for each other.

Trump was supposedly fighting socialism. Yet, he rolled over on it, in one night...

Everyone is finally getting along. And what are they getting along about, you say? Taking away our freedoms!

Boots on the ground in Toronto. I just got laid off with about 97% of the workers at my company, around 500 people. Everyone is being told to work from home and lots of layoffs happening. We have a decent employment insurance program in the province, 55% of earnings paid so I should be good. Our government has also asked banks to defer mortgage payments for up to 6 months. Renters here are lobbying for some assistance as well. I forsee a massive layoffs in the next week.

I haven't lost my job.. but I'm off for at least the next 2 weeks.

Im sorry to hear. I was laid off due to COV-19 along with the 3 other employees of my position. My fiancé a week prior along with close to 50 folks at her company.

My company's HQ is in California, they had to furlough nearly everyone yesterday. I still have my job but if this keeps up I'm getting an upaid vacation as well.

I don't know anyone personally who has lost their job permanently yet although I have witnessed some interesting events unfolding here in the sleepy little town where I live.

The grocery stores have been running out of food (obviously) so the local Mom and Pop restaurants and other business of those types were offering limited seating to diners or offering take out, curbside or delivery, a few days of public shaming and many stopped inside dining. A few more days of public shaming and they are slowly closing one by one, some with proposed reopening dates and some are until further notice.

Some of those employees, if absolutely necessary can move back home...some can't. The owners of the businesses themselves may take such a financial hit that they won't be able to rebound, I'm sure.

I'm not sure what my point was now but to see it unfolding is quite a shock.

My BIL works for a tile manufacturer based out of Italy and our local plant is the only one worldwide that is still in operation, or so that is what he was told.

I'm not sure why people would stop using restaurants.

We've been doing our best to not change that pattern although we were never heavy restaurant goers to begin with. I get the idea that someone handles your food, but either you trusted them to be clean before or you didn't.

Eating out for us is not just for a prepared meal. It is and was for the fact of the service and atmosphere while getting out. Now, restaurants cannot have dine-in service in Michigan. It is take out or delivery only. That defeats our sole reasoning for eating out. Also, defeats our excuse to pay more for a meal I could make better at home cheaper. There is no ambience left in the experience.

Yes, all we have now is time. Day 6 of no work for me. Cooped up in the house. I’d love to go to a pub for an IPA, but NOPE.

If I feel like this after 6 days, I can only imagine after a couple weeks...

I've been out of work since St. Paddy's Day. Key West is shut down, a few bars and restaurants are doing togo orders but that will be likely ordered to be shut down next week.

All hotels have been ordered to be shut down and starting tomorrow only residents will be allowed on the island chain.

Meanwhile our landlord still expects rent on the 1st.

Things are being designed by the Democrat Complex to make financial pain as bad as possible, so America will ask Biden to rescue them from the Trump recession, like they asked Biden to rescue them from the Bush recession.

Oh, the governor (Tennessee) has recommended limited groups so the restaurants thought it easier to just go ahead and close the dining in part of their business. Some are really doing well with curbside and take out/delivery.
It was advised no more than 10 people and with the distance apart I suppose it didn't make sense to have wait staff on stand by just in case someone showed up to eat in.
