Yeah but that was back in the day when he still had his voice. I am convinced the man can't sing a note anymore and most of the more recent videos of him appearing to do so are somehow faked. Been a longtime fan of Floyd and I started getting suspicious of his live vocals when I watched his concert DVD he put out (I think it was In The Flesh Live) where I noticed at least one section of Every Stranger's Eyes sounded exactly the same as it does on the album (and you know what that means).

In the years since I have noticed if you look for videos of him performing live it is not hard to find instances where he is "singing" with his real voice and sounds terrible.

Conclusion - Something happened to his voice somewhere between Pros & Cons and Amused To Death and he hasn't been the same since. I mean, he was never David Gilmour but he used to be able to sing well enough to do songs like the ones you mentioned. And I agree they were nice.

Also, I think that video is from when they filmed The Wall concert and screwed up the exposure to the point to where it was basically useless. I heard they had somewhat restored it but I kind of doubt they ever got it right if there wasn't much there to get out of it.

It's just part of aging maybe. Those vocal chords get worn out like rubber bands and he did a lot of screaming into a microphone.
