With respect to you and your family, tell your wife at times like this one is well rewarded to think for oneself. Don't wait for the inept and corrupt bureaucrats to finally deign to announce there is a dangerous epidemic all over NZ.

Your islands are probably okay at the moment, but you are very correct to watch this situation like a hawk. This is no time to doze.

Shanghai (pop 24 million) has cancelled work until February 9. Suzhou (pop 11 million) already cancelled work until February 8. I'm sure other cities will as well. Plan seems to be have everyone stay home for 14 days to see who has the virus.

Not sure how all that is going to work but, that's gonna put a dent in the economy.

No, the viruses that were stolen from the Canadian lab were Ebola and Henipah. It was not a Coronavirus.

If they were contagious with no symptoms, the mind boggles at how many they could have already infected, impossible to quarantine that.

A couple of weeks from now will tell a better story for all foreign home lands.

One tiny silver lining is, we would get more accurate figures/reporting/results than the Chinese gov I hope, after the horse has already bolted.

Yeah I think so,but knowing our govt I doubt that will happen. If any island country our size gets that virus,itwill go down fast,for.our 4 million population ,and percentage of Chinese residents,,we most probably have more Chinese people heading back to our shores than any other

I'd say yes you're right. All for.a.flu? No way,we are being lied to by our governments,they know what's going on. This is huge,I just hope it doesn't turn into a re-sets scenario.

We live in a time where deliberate misinformation spreads like wildfire. Journalists and bloggers etc take facts and mix them with crap to get hits on their sites or simply for attention. Stay groovy and fact check sources if something doesn't sound right.

I just tried creating a flight path to copenhagen and I can already see all kinds of issues with that journey...
the route is Wuhan - Beijing - Vienna - Copenhagen.....

So basically, even if the individual would get off in Austria, he’ll be at 3 airports xO
And who would have thought to take the responsibilty of checking the passengers along the way?
