Passing the Baton: India Ready to Continue the Global War on Terror

Well India's new cheif of defense cited American resilience as their solution to tackling terrorism is to take the war global.

“Terrorism is here to stay. So long as there are… states that are going to sponsor terrorism and… use terrorists as proxies, make weapons available to them, [provide] funding for them, then we can’t control terrorism,” Gen. Rawat said, as quoted by local media.

We have to bring an end to terrorism and that can only happen the way Americans started after the 9/11 terror attack. They said let’s go on a spree… [a] global war on terror.

India, he suggested, has "to take the bull by its horns and strike at the root cause." It would be wrong to think that "the war on terrorism is going to end," he added.

This was during a panel at something called #Raisina2020,
Or the Raisina Dialogue which is something like a mini regional public bilderberg conference.

The Raisina Dialogue is a multilateral conference held annually in New Delhi. Since its inception in 2016, the conference has emerged as India’s flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-economics. The conference is hosted by the Observer Research Foundation, an independent think tank, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

The conference is structured as a multi-stakeholder, cross-sectoral discussion, involving a variety of global policymakers including heads of state, cabinet ministers and local government officials. In addition, the Dialogue also welcomes major private sector executives, as well as members of the media and academia. It is designed on the lines of Singapore's Shangri-La Dialogue.[1]

The name "Raisina Dialogue" comes from Raisina Hill, an elevation in New Delhi, seat of the Government of India, as well as the Presidential Palace of India, Rashtrapati Bhavan.[2

I wonder what kind of adventurism we can expect from India in the 2020's?? I suspect they plan to get more aggressive with force projection this decade.

Hopefully more than the literal chest bumping they do with Pakistan on their shared border.

Do they? Most of what I see is dudes bouncing off other dudes like they just slam dunked a ball from the midcourt line.

There is about as much as a global war on terror as there is a war on drugs or poverty.

"They" need terrorists so they can sell their new toys to the boys.

Nevermind the fact that we are responsible for there creation and armament via proxy.

India will need to join the queue being rather late to the party.

Quite a bit of hatred and religious fervor between both nations.

So let's hope not, considering both nations possess nukes, and may be willing to use them should an invasion arise.

We had both at work for a while and it didn't go well. Pakistani's are gone after making a bunch of demands. 4 Days later --------GONE!!

India (New Delhi) imports close to 85% of thier energy. Partners: Saudi, Iraq, UAE on and on, even under the table watching oil markets we knew industry wide just through volume trades, they were buying off Iran after May 2019. This has stopped very recently. Look to one example, Chabahar Port.

India, without national intent, now finds itself in the midst of a crossfire. The statements made are a stampede of face plants.

Watch, India placed the foot down with the USA, a behind the scene alliance just became openly manifested.

I suspect more like we will see India sending troops to global adventurist zones to bolster our forces and the traditional allies who commit like UK, Australia, Canada, France etc...

Perhaps they will even bump heads with Turkey if they end up assisting KSA/UAE with their international counter-terrorism efforts in north Africa. Maybe they will setup a base an Djibouti with everyone else.
