Declassified UFO Report From CIA Reveals UFO Was Seen Over Soviet Missile Range In 1973

A recent article posted in The Black Vault, states that in 1978, the CIA released an “Intelligence Information Report” concerning a UFO sighting above a Soviet Union Weapons Testing Range in 1973.

This past December, The Black Vault obtained a redacted, declassified version of this report, which states that someone spotted this UFO at "Site 7," which is the Sary Shagan Weapons testing Range, located in present-day Republic of Kazakhstan.

Sary Shagan is one of the most important historical sites in the history of the Cold War. The birthplace of the modern ABM system, Sary Shagan's main facilities are situated along the western shores of Lake Balkhash in Kazakhstan, with the massive test range extending west into the Betpak-Dala desert. Originally part of the USSR, Sary Shagan is still leased by the Russian government to conduct test launches of the current System A-135's 53T6 (ABM-4B GAZELLE) endoatmospheric interceptors.

Site 7 supposedly tested "experimental missiles, along with testing laser weapon systems utilizing powerful antennas." It has been said that Russia started developing tactical laser weapons before the United States and in the early-mid 70's, had combat chemical lasers in its arsenal, that are often referred to as Cold War "laser weapons."

It was here that during the 1970s, the Soviet Union was secretly launching experimental missiles, along with testing laser weapon systems utilizing powerful antennas.

THE SIGHTING:

“On one evening in late Summer 1973, Source observed an unidentified phenomenon at Site 7,” the intelligence report revealed. “While watching a sport competition between Canada and the USSR on television, he stepped outside for some air and observed an unidentified sharp (bright) green circular object or mass the sky. The object was situated West of the site at an angle of sighting of approximately 70 degrees.” Although the witness could not determine the altitude of the object, they believed it was above cloud level. They also recounted that, “within 10 to 15 seconds of observation, the green circle widened and within a brief period of time several green concentric circles formed around the mass. Within minutes the coloring disappeared. There was no sound, such as an explosion, associated with the phenomenon.”

This sighting, that took place back in 1973, is similar to the many unexplained aerial phenomenon that have been sighted at nuclear and military sites in the United States over the years.

Of course you will see lights from weapon tests, rocket launches in the sky above a test range.

It would be weird if you would't.

Russian missile tests and satellite launchings have been a major contributor to their 'UFO sightings' since the Space Age began. Soviet-era UFO buffs helped camouflage actual military tests with UFO misidentification.

Most spectacular -- the 1967 UFO wave that was endorsed as unexplainable by top Western 'UFO experts' as well.

Are the dates correct ? The Canada-Soviet Hockey Summit Series was 8 games in September 1972. Makes me wonder how fake the report is.

For the past 50 years it seems there's been no need to worry about a major nuclear war because UFO's always pop up to disable those weapons.

The first video looks like a brightness illuminated on a nightscope viewer..night vision, and impossible to tell what the brightness is, or what shape and could be totally an asymmetrical form but also something quite mundane, and not unusual for IR reflections to be present as well. Looks to be not so far away and in this case could easily be symmetric like a balloon caught in an eddy.
