You don't seem to fully understand the Iranian leadership's motivations.

They are RELIGIOUS EXTREMISTS. They see it as their job to hasten the return of the christ-like figure the 12th Mahdi.
They are attempting to create a caliphate. It's a crucial step, as they see it, in fulfilling the prophecy. They will continue to work toward that goal whether we are in the middle east or not. In their eyes, we're just the largest barrier to realizing that goal currently. We would eventually end up on their list one way or another.

I'm no apologist for the messed up things we've done in the past but that isn't and shouldn't be a free pass for the monsters in the Iranian leadership to kill anyone they want. After the past 15 years, who can blame them for thinking that's the case, though? Obama designated the Quds force a terrorist organization for everything they've done in Iraq and Syria, then turned around and gave them a billion dollars.
That doesn't mean I'm advocating for war. It means if ANY nation thinks they're going to attack our soldiers or civilian contractors, I think they should expect to pay a steep price. Unfortunately, depending on who you're dealing with, sometimes words just don't convey that effectively enough.

Iran's leadership responds well to credible threats... they do not respond well to appeasement. I prefer the former, so maybe they will have a chance to grow out of this theocracy phase they're going through, but I also recognize the latter may become necessary. That depends on Iran, not Trump, not the DNC, not the RNC, not the Deep State... it's Iran's ball.

There is one... one... politician in my lifetime that has taken on all the others in the "empire" you speak of. His name is Donald John Trump. When you blanketly oppose him, you blanketly support the "empire." Try looking at the cause of the problems, not following someone else's finger pointing. Those guys at CNN are covering their own butts, not
helping you understand.

I get it, I agree that like all wars the front players are actors, playing under directors. This one? not sure it's a war so much as a distraction from domestic political/legal problems due to timing. Doubt it has much to do with what you think is really going on.

There is no word yet on casualties.

I dont think that is safe to assume at all. The second earthquake makes it unlikely IMO.

In fact if I recall correctly NK nuke tests only registered in the 4’s, so unless you think we nuked the plant it’s too high on the Richter scale.
