Will The Attack On Iran The Ongoing Impeachment and Gun Law In VA Start A Civil War?

Well, they do say history repeats itself. I certainly hope this country never gets to that point, but I believe there are some reasons for concern.

Consider the potential conflict that will erupt in Virginia over their new gun law, which many gun owners believe disregards their 2nd amendment rights. Currently, 76 out of 95 counties within the state are now Second Amendment sanctuaries and VA’s attorney general vows to use force to enforce the law. Local militias, including those from other states, are ready to fight confiscation attempts. Can you imagine what would happen if the Governor calls in the Virginia National Guard?

The impeachment sham against President Trump is another action that has divided our country. Many on the Right strongly believe this was nothing more than an orchestrated attempt to discredit Trump before the 2020 election. The Democrats enacted an earlier smear campaign with The Russian Collusion farce, that ended up going nowhere and turned out to be a complete embarrassment for them. Now, Nancy Pelosi is attempting to obstruct a Senate trial, by withholding impeachment articles and may even add a third article of impeachment against President Donald Trump.

There’s also evidence, that fmr President Obama’s administration spied on President Trump, even before he was elected President. That entire scenario is currently being investigated by US Attorney John Durham. What if his soon to be released report proves this was true? What happens when people are indicted? What if these people “spill the beans” for a lesser sentence? Could this not further escalate the tension between people with different political viewpoints? After all, tensions between the Left and Right in this country seem to be at an all time high. The Left, as well as MSM, hates Trump and they’ve called his supporters every name under the sun, from being dumb racists, to Nazis.

Now, because of the recent killing of Iran’s General Qasem Soleimani, the Left are now implying that Trump supporters are backing a “war criminal,” and a “psychopath.” At this moment, Democrats are in the process of introducing a “War Powers Resolution,” which basically declares Trump’s authorization to attack Soleimani, illegal under international law. This is ridiculous, because it blatantly disregards the fact that the president has constitutional authority to take any military action, short of declaring war, that he deems necessary to protect American citizens. Pelosi and the Democrats are pandering to their base, who probably could care less if Trump had “constitutional authority.” Why? Because they intensely hate Trump and his supporters, and this attack on Iran gives them another reason to bitch and moan on social media and protest in the streets.

So, what happens when Iran starts to retaliate? What happens when American targets worldwide are attacked? What happens then? We know President Trump has stated that he’ll respond with force against any type of attack carried out by Iran. Will further escalation between the US and Iran cause further protests and potential violence here in the US?

All these events are being played out right now, and they're responsible for causing a major rift between people on both sides of the political fence. It seems that a perfect storm is brewing, which potentially could cause a major uprising within the US.

I really hope I’m wrong about this, but I just feel some event, or combination of events, will be "the straw that breaks the camel's back" and I’m afraid this could be the year. It really reminds me of a recent thread on ATS, that discussed the notion that “something big and life-changing” was about to happen in this country. Thoughts?

No.

Every thread title that asks a question has the same answer.

What history is repeating itself?

Nope because the world is doing what the world always does.
People die some place other people are born, the govt does shady things, people do shady things, dramas rise and fall.

Logistically how does a "civil war" happen in the current US which is substantially bigger and more complex that what occurred in the 1800s. The answer is it doesn't happen for many of the same reasons why there will never be a successful invasion of the continental US by an invading army.

If we fight each other instead of going after the entire government, including trump, then we are fools and deserve to watch our country fall.

If the electricity goes out the strong will ban together and fight for food. Regardless of political ideals. You will see liberals right next to conservatives in that case.

The government and trump wont mater in that scenario.
Trump followers would run over trump and storm trump tower if they thought there was some food inside.

You will see tribalism.
Civil wars don't have to be limited to two factions.

Awesome..If only it was that easy someone would have done it by now..

Still that doesnt account for the size difference between the Civil War and the current US.

Yes, that would do the trick. Unfortunately, people today are so blinded by a false sense of security that they believe the status quo is going to continue on indefinitely. We are at a major turning point in our nation's history. The main culprit is globalization and mass immigration, which is designed to disrupt empires (I don’t know who’s agenda this is, but it’s working). Throughout history, no empire has survived what we are experiencing now (China is homogenous, for example,it doesn’t count). Add on to that this sick and twisted PC culture that has been forced on us, which is nothing but a control mechanism (Marx used this as a political tool). I do not hate anyone, but extreme feminists, LGBTQ members, and other foreign groups are altering our traditional ways of life (happening globally). What follows, historically speaking, is an uprising and the return of more homogenous socities with right leaning values (when minority groups, wether they be racial or social, gain control it is usually chaotic and short-lived). However, I do think we have evolved enough to respect those who are different, but it won't be held over people's heads like it currently is.

Now, I am not saying everything is going to fall apart tomorrow, but I do think we have entered the point of no return. If I had to guess, I’d say the US gradually loses much of it’s importance over the coming decades and you see mass immigration back to people's homelands (those who can afford to do so). I think those who remain in America are going to resemble those in Central America. Very mixed genetically with their main source of income being agriculture.

Note: I am Hispanic and have often thought about moving to Spain or Andorra. I am in the process of learning Catalan and plan on traveling to Catalonia soon.
