Chef from South Park isn't a good idea, I mean if we're lookin'
to create an abomination, then surely Bazza Manilow is the beat.

Here's an idea... before you guys scream this a theory and shouldn't be here!

Maybe these things originated in Asia, you know... the Alma from Russia and that ginger-haired thing in China.
Maybe they crossed over from Asia when the sea was frozen all the way to Alaska?
Eskimos did it.
Some bone-diggers reckon that huge hog/wolf-like things used hang around up there at certain times of the year and nail the poor neaderthral sucka's has they passed over!

just a thought.

OR

Some westerners got bored/high and saw bigfoot. By which I mean they got bored/high/drunk and saw bear prints.

Probably, they're just another invention from minds that yearn for a time when we were closer to nature.

Sadly, the world may not be as magical as we wish.

Not as magical as we wish??? You may be right, though the thought truly disheartens me!

Sorry Daboga75, sometimes I ponder the proof and become cynical to certain subjects.
Me, I know that man hasn't checked everything in the world, even in well explored areas, new animals are still being found.

That famous case of the Peccary that was supposed to be extinct, then some scientists heard rumours of a sighting somewhere in the back and beyond of South America.
They visit a village and ask if anyone may have seen these so-called extinct pig-like beasts and a guy tells them he keeps loads of 'em in his back yard!!
They check and sure enough...
So I'm still lighting a candle for our forest-dwelling cousin, but time is still plodding on and we're devestating the country more and more.

Yeah, but the woodlands of America are pretty well explored, and one would notice a giant monkeybear plodding along.
