Work's today just as much as in 1967. This set of lyrics, "There's battle lines being drawn Nobody's right if everybody's wrong" makes me think of politics in this country today.

The song was written when America was in the middle of the Cold war, the Viet Nam war (and accompanying massive protests), large-scale race riots and the Space Race.

It made sense for the time.

Now we're merely deciding the future of America by voting for either Free Stuff or for Freedom.

So there is a definite wrong and right side now.

Glad to hear you are willing to admit having some free stuff is good compromise to billionaires taking everything away for themselves. I agree there is no freedom with economic slavery, prison labor, or just slavery.

That was a really good song. Very prophetic. Check out 'We Can Be Together' by The Jefferson Airplane. It told of how politics and ideologies totally divide people, when in reality, people were meant to be united.
(My wifi is intermittent and wonky now so I can't even post s link.)

I think unity comes from respecting minority or differing opinions than your own. Do you agree?

An amazing song by some seriously talented folks. I have seen Neal Young in concert three times. The man is a legend. I don't always agree with him politically, but his talent is undeniable.

I understand why you don't understand what I typed.

That being said, Neil Young is amazing.

The Laurel Canyon crowd, Stills and young, a little after the time Brian Wilson showed up on the scene, a little with with the Beach boys and crazies like Charlie Manson. Evolved into CSN&Y when Cosby came from the Byrds.

Lots of crazy stuff then. My hangout, Laguna Canyon. But everyone from Laurel Canyon ALL frequented Laguna. Frequented the 'Water House' behind the Krishna house.

Laguna was the 'Brotherhood of Eternal Love. Leary and Owsley came down from Berkley a lot with Lots of goodies for a good length of time. I was 17 when I started hanging out in Laguna at the Water House occasionally with a guy Odin and my friend Lance...........crazy days and wild memories..... my road to ruin, then Vietnam.

yeah the Libertarian side is right. Everyone else is wrong.

See how easy that is to do?

you know we have more choices than Republican or Democrat right?

I think the song still speaks volumes today. It's like it was written yesterday almost.
