It's a matter of brain chemicals if you really look at why some people are doom and why some are positive. I've been depressed and still get it at
times, I've also been upbeat and happy enjoying life.
I only go to doom, apocalypse, and get into the negative things when I myself am negative. People who aren't happy with the world and most importantly
their lives at the present time will go into doom, even fantasize about it. It expresses in different ways with different people.
Some are Christian and are fixated on the end times, bible prophecies indicating that war and disaster is about to happen. Millions and billions of
unbeliever will soon die with only some Christians caught in it, if any, and those all goto heaven to be with the Lord so it's a win/win. The rapture;
the Christians get to be with the Lord while the evil world gets brutally tortured and the human race is mostly destroyed. They'd never admit it, but
the thought is pleasing. Why would you want to go immediately if you're really enjoying life and want to spread good?
Others are in a darker place mentally and don't mind going because their lives aren't fulfilling, so long as most everyone else goes with them. I like
to call it a global suicide bomber of ideas. Some intellectual types will flirt with disaster and doom porn, watching hours of videos and reading
pages of material. Then, they formulate long posts laying out what might happen, when and why. Like an educated argument to convince others that it
might or will happen. I have to ask what the point or purpose of that really is.
It's like patting someone on the back in real life and saying, "Hey, how are you? I hope you're enjoying your day. You and everyone you care about is
going to catastrophically die soon and here's why."
