A Journey to the End of Time

A random youtube stumbling brought me to this video and I post it in the hope that some of you may enjoy, wonder and be mind blown by it too. It is a visual depiction of how our universe dies, in its' entirety according to current scientific knowledge. It is quite a long watch but I was amazed and I hope you will be too. There are audio clips of scientists explaining what is going to happen and why based on what is known and detected by instruments, measurements and possibly some "best guesses" all in glorious and violent detail.

Personally I'd expected the universe to die relatively (yeah yeah, I know) quickly but it takes way longer than that.

Personally, I wasn't too keen on the bit that said "if you make an atom smasher big enough you may be able to create a baby universe". Well.....maybe it's just me, but I suspect that a baby universe is absolutely #ing enormous, and when one is created, it's created in an extremely violent fashion....you know, planet and solar system destroying violent fashion....

The universe is currently estimated to be 93 billion light years in diameter. I'm sure there's room for a nursery in the corner behind the large black hole. I doubt we'd notice anything for a few billion years.

Glad you enjoyed it. They say forever is a long time. Time will tell. Who doesn't like a little peace and quiet though after all the bangs, pops, whizzes, supernovas and collapsing.

There's no doubt that there's plenty of space, I'm just concerned about the epicenter being too close.....like maybe in Switzerland.

Switzerland is neutral. They won't tell anyone no matter how much meteor gold you have or how many baby universes are throwing their toys out of their prams.
