Europe, Be Wary of the EU Constitution!!!!!

50 years after WW2 and the defeat of Hitler, his dreams of a united europe with a Nazi type of constitution are about to come true right before your eyes and yet you dont see it!

Get ready to loose you National Individualism!

EU constitution will create the following,

An unelected president, foreign minister and diplomatic service.
A judicial system, recognized external borders.
A military capacity and a police force.
EU's legally binding power in security matters.
Protectionist regulations.

Removing powers from member states and concentrating many of them in Brussels.

Last week President Bush was in Brussels, meeting with NATO, the European Council and the European Commission president. Many of the EU elite may not have told Mr. Bush his trip coincided with one of the most pivotal points of U.S. and European relations. This year starts the countdown to many national referendums on the proposed European constitution.

EU Aims to be Global Military Superpower!!!

AMID a trans-Atlantic row over its determination to resume arms sales to China, the European Union has outlined plans to become a military superpower and close the defence technology gap on the US.

The EU would develop unmanned drones, new armoured vehicles and advanced communication systems, the British head of the newly created European Defence Agency said.

Long Live United Europe and its nascent Consitution! The path to the future was not easy and Europe's history is a fascinating succession of conflict and creation. Wha't happening now is wonderful.

Europe, united? Hahahahahahahahhahahahahahaha, that'll be on a cold day when pigs have wings.

First of all this whole unification thing is going to take time. Second the next superpower is China and there is not a damn thing the EU can do about it. China as of right now might not have the infastructure that the countries of Europe do but give 5 to 10 years and they will get there. And on top of that selling weapons to China is going to help their quest to become a superpower. China is an industrial powerhouse and we all no that in war whoever can produce will win. Unfourtunatly a united EU will only be another thorn in the U.S 's side. I guess will just have to wait and see

Whats so wrong about there constitution, who cares if they become one big nation anyways.

As the French might say, action de sandwich. Europe will be the tuna between the bread. The bread will be toasted with the top loaf being China and the bottom loaf being the United States. Some continual sandwich action or action de sandwich.

I think a united Europe would be good, but I don't like this constitution at all, it seems very anti-democratic. I would think that Europeans would want a more transparent system with more accountability.

Their charter of human rights is a farce. It seems like every other right is qualified with "in accordance with law" or words to that effect, subjugating rights-- -which by definition are things people are inherently allowed to do without permission-- to the whims of legislators.

We're not trying to do anything. We do not wish to get into a stupid wang measuring contest with the US or anyone else, to much money and a waste of time. Besides, we have considerable diplomatic clout that we use, and a sizeable ability to "entice" others to do our bidding with our trading powers.

I agree. It needs to be explained more clearly for starters, and secondly, we need more directly elected people doing the decision making in Brussels.

Thats the way it has always been, especially in the UK. We do not have "rights" per se, but merely that we are permitted to do what is not proscribed by law. But as our legislators are far more accountable (MP's for instance being easily reachable, and serving a small local area), it is rarely (if ever) abused.

Indeed.

Legal documents and practice are two entirely different things.

I'll give the EU one thing, it's honest.

The USA has a Constitution that starkly defines various human rights saying that no law can be made to infringe on them, in most instances, and the Supreme Court has usurped the authority to dictate the meaning of the Constitution to excuse all sorts of illegal government action.

In the EU, any human rights violation by the government is done legally, which makes it okay.
