I'm all for moving it forward, 99% of the population needs to be beat by demons wielding sticks.

As an occasional semi payed costumed performer, I whole heartedly support their actions. You do not touch the costumes outside the usual interactions for the character. Removing a head in public is not allowed even by the performer unless you have a medical problem. It upsets the children.

The items used look to be more for embarrassment rather than intimidation or pain. Maybe they will learn something of the culture of their new country.

Horns and hooves are part of what I do. I have never been bothered other than being called a demon.

Originally, Demon means learned one, teacher, knowledgeable.

I’m hearing reports this was done to willing participants. With all the sensationalized media, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is sensationalized as well.
