You call Trayvon a thug? He didn't shoot an unarmed man. George Zimmerman did. Shooting an unarmed man is what a real thug does...

I'll would of done the same thing, a 165 pound teenager (man) doing a pound and ground on a concrete sidewalk. Would you of laid there and had your brains literately beat out on a concrete sidewalk? That would of made you a candidate for the Darwin award.

Not really.
I lived through Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr...
There was always a divide but not with the venom there is today.
All tolerance is gone.

Idk, the Iraq War was a pretty tough time. Anyone not for it was viewed as unpatriotic. Rhetoric was pretty strong then too.

I think now people can just share there thoughts online so it seems more extreme.

To me the divide went postal when Bush jr. won in 2000. That was the first time I had heard the term "he's not my president". Now when Clinton was prez I'd not heard that term used by the right. After that it's gotten wider and wider, pushed by the media in my opinion. Remember all the protest against Bush Jr for the middle east, the media covered it 24/7 but when Obama did drone attacks and such there was no protest no media outrage. The media has been shaping this country forever and now they have more power than ever with instant responses through the on line world.

Yea, punditry has gotten pretty bad now too. All the prominent figures now are pundits for one side or the other. Rare to find just an anchor these days.

It goes back to project blue bird. When the government got control of the media during ww2 for national security reasons they have never lost that control.
