White House, Capital building on lockdown

Apparently an unidentified aircraft violated airspace, probably going to end up being nothing.

The White House and U.S. Capitol building were on lockdown Tuesday morning after an unidentified aircraft violated restricted airspace over Washington, sources said.

Congress needs a scare to get them back on track to serving the people of this country. Hopefully a little accident like that will get their minds right.

My husband is a pilot and there are VERY serious rules concerning
where you can and can't fly near or above! A pilot could find getting
their plane shot down,if the pilot survived,going to prison.

A high probability that if convicted Trump would pardon the person. Just trying to get a look at the president so he can't hold that against him.

And where has that exact narrative/description played out before? Gatwick drone last Christmas.

That said, neither this nor that were ever fully confirmed as drones. But a DJI Phantom 3 is definitely a slow moving white blob, and an aircraft. And a UFO

It was a mirror track caused by a radar glitch. It was displaying a transponder track, but no primary return, because it was reading the transponder of another aircraft. One of the systems in the area that is equipped with E/O sensors looked at where the radar track was and saw one aircraft, where the system said there were two. So they started looking more, but by then the radar had reset itself and the mirror track was gone. So they launched an MH-65 alert helicopter and taxied F-16s at Andrews.

Mirror tracks are relatively common, they just usually don't last long. The system in this case wasn't "dumb", it was operator error. The human is always the weak link in the chain.
