Any of you in the KISS army? I can't believe these guys are still on tour. Their "End of the Road World Tour" started back on January 31 and is set to end on July 17, 2021.

Next year, they play in my neck of the woods, twice! Seriously though, these guys are playing just about every other night, which must be extremely hard, especially for Simmons and Stanley, who are both past 65 years of age.

Back when I was a teenager, The Tomorrow Show, hosted by Tom Snyder, was one of my favorites. The show came on at 1:00 AM on Saturday, which was usually right after I came home from a night out with my friends and co-workers.

Snyder was a cool interviewer and had many great acts perform on his show, which included U2, the Ramones, The Clash and KISS. Speaking of KISS, I remember watching when Snyder had them on back in October 31st, 1979, which was called "The Halloween Special". It's my pick, for the most awkward rock band interview ever.

Just watch guitarist Ace Frehley (who appears quite intoxicated) hijack the interview, which annoys Gene Simmons, as he appears visibly upset. Plus, Ace does a GREAT job mimicking the Joker's laugh. Here's a YouTube clip that features the highlights from that interview:

I'll watch it as soon I'm back home.

Anyway, I thought the thread was about Spinal Tap.

Meh
That all you got

Norman did it a whole lot worse back in the 80s, even I cringed
And I like Norm

Never been a big fan of kiss music, more a Dylan, creedence, Van Morrison fan, but I get the gimmick and it’s pretty good.
Transcends gender and age surprisingly, the WWE of rock

Meh? Each to their own, I guess. The reason why I liked Tom Snyder was that he interviewed many great artists and bands back in the day and he was a good interviewer, not a guy acting like a babbling idiot all the time, just for laughs.

First time I’ve seen that. I’m with Ace, I thought it was awesome.
Gene and Paul were the adults at that time, with Ace and Chris being the Rock Stars. It seems kinda silly to be dressed like that and playing the professional rather than the rock star and Tom seemed to enjoy Ace’s antics.

Sorry fella, just a bit of a joke
Norman was well known for his sabotage interviews to mega stars
Significantly different interview styles, humour versus cringe

Thought it was relevant in relation to the subject, just Australian style, different

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

False pretenses! I came in here expecting a thread about the Guess Who. Kiss sucks.

Carry on.

Fun thread!

I remember when Kiss first came out...they made quite the impression on fans with their music, costumes and showmanship.

As a kid I liked drawing them all four on stage in costume. I think this was their first video released on M TV unmasked but could be wrong.
Kiss - Forever

Paul Stanley had quite a voice with some incredible range. I remember when this came out.
KISS - I was Made For Loving You

It was the Van era. Some were into putting a bed in the back of vans and shag carpet on the ceiling Diamond tuck in vynl in the doors and dash moon windows in the back, custom paint job with flames or scenery. Side pipes that might flame up.
I remember going down the road in my sisters tricked out van with this playing on the radio.

And kabuki makeup doesn't age like the real faces underneath...

Concur false pretense on Guess Who. Thinking there were probably some real awkward interview moments for a Canadian band, critical on America (like most at the time) - yet totally dependent on American market record sales.

Second assertion, cannot confirm. Pretty much missed the 80s, but looking at Gene Simmons old photos, Licks 4sure.
