An interesting source.
"Black Left" is how they describe themselves.
By which I suppose they mean they are anarcho-communists. Like all modern communists they are probably wealthy upper-middle class types who have never
read Marx's work and have more money & free time than sense.
Strange they would support China however, China, being governed by a "communist party", is about as far from socialism as China can conceivably get
without restoring the Qing Empire.
China is a state where corruption is rampant, a wealthy corporate elite control the political power through patronage of party officials, workers are
viewed as an expendable resource at best. Laws, when they apply, are drawn up for the benefit of foreign and domestic conglomerates. Basic things such
as the fundamental necessities of life are denied to the people in the name of profit.
In short, all the things one on the "left" would hate about America, are amplified tenfold in "Communist" China.
Hong Kongers, albeit living in a heavily corporatised and exploitative country with huge wealth disparity, would not see their lot improve by their
country being further assimilated by the Chinese Communist Party. To claim this is ignorance at it's finest. Not least because aside from the economic
realities of Chinese Overlordship, what few freedoms and rights they retain from British times would evaporate.
If George Soros is indeed supporting the Hong Kongers in their bid to retain their freedom, well I guess the Devil had his charitable days as well.
