Provoking the world against the US - a major aspect of the "war on terror"

The "clash of civilizations" gang's silly notion that the Islamic world hates us because we're free has been replaced by the awareness that they hate the US because of what we've done to their lives, because they realize that their countries are on the US hit list, or simply out of disgust.

However, I would go further and claim that provoking the Islamic world to hate the US is a major goal of these policies, with the intent of providing ourselves with "evidence" of hostile intent against the US, and thus of "Islamic" terrorism, and a pretext for further military action.

Do you mean the US provokes the Islamic world because it double deals with regimes?
