These guys were famous for a reason...they were fantastic.

They did things no one else could ever do.

Every time I go to Freo I walk past Bon's statue. Grew up with this band, rockin' it out of the ol' Torana, just us 4 blokes on hot summer days back when the America's Cup re-created Fremantle and it was booming, hot chicks in skimpy bikinis down the beaches smiling as we tripped over ourselves rather than call the cops, Cicerellos fish and chips before it turned into a gourmet snobbery, emu export lager in the esky, before they got rid of it.

God damn I miss those days... Cheers for the nostalgic feels !!

*damn formatting won't let me do the metal sign ahha.. everything is gone!!!!!!!*

Bon Scott was LEGEND!!

There will NEVER be anyone like him!!

He MADE AC/DC, and when he was gone, it was never the same.

AC / DC is still good, but they'll never be as good as with Bon Scott!!!!

Just that twinkle in his eye, that lack of fear...AC/DC was legend!

Maybe not your taste but, AC/CD was one of their biggest influences.

Bon Scott was LEGEND!!

Indeed he was, but just as AC/DC isn't the same without him, it wouldn't be the same without the others behind him either, especially Angus Young. They were a team and together they created one "Helluva Band".

I agree, though I still have fond memories of early Brian, Who Made Who was in the playlist.. if you can call a tape deck with a box full of cassettes in the glove box, a playlist

But no one could ever have replaced Bon. Least of all that chubby guy from guns'n'roses

Bon was the epitome of that era..

Absolutely dig AC/DC. Like many have said listen to this all time classic rock n roll that absolutely rocks with the bag pipes.

The Valentines, yeah well.

Grew up with AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and the Angels and am pretty much over their music now

Rose Tatt were good but The Angels were as good as AC DC in my opinion
Aussie bands most non Aussies would probably have never heard

Rose Tattoo

The little bald fella, Angry Anderson was in Mad Max 3

If you dig the AC/DC vibe, check out the Oz band Airbourne. They're doing a fine job carrying the torch.

The bloke who was in Swift'n'Shift Couriers was also in a band?? And a Movie?

Crazy times!!!

The Angels, iconic.. We all know that one part of that one song..
But I never did find myself drawn to Rose Tattoo.. I was probably always too drunk to hear it back in those days.

They were exceptional and definitely a special cog on the many gears that make up Rock History.

I didn't realize he's been gone since the 80's. From wiki - "on 19 February 1980, Scott died after a night out in London".

Must of been one hell of a night! I would guess probably boos and pills got the best of him?

From wiki - "Brian Francis Johnson (born 5 October 1947) is an English singer and songwriter. In 1980, he became the third lead singer of the Australian rock band AC/DC, after the death of Bon Scott. He and the rest of the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. In March 2016, Johnson stepped down from touring on the Rock or Bust World Tour due to hearing problems. On 20 May 2016, Johnson stated in an interview, "I've had a pretty good run" in AC/DC and implied that he might not be returning by saying, "I'm just thankful, really, that I came out of it in one piece."

With Brian Francis Johnson gone since 2016, who's doing the lead singing now for AC/DC?

I sometimes wonder about the music that our generation has loved throughout our lives. What will become of it in say 300 years? Will people still be learning some of this generations songs or will they be buried and forgotten forever?

Ah here is such a video with Axle Rose screaming out Thunderstruck lyrics.
At least the guy can scream and sing at the same time. That helps a lot!

TBH, Axl doesn't do too bad. He's not Brian or Bon for sure, but the spirit is there. What's truly missing is the bundle of energy that just poured out of Brian on stage. Guy was a dervish. Seeing them in concert was something I'll never forget. Amazing show.
