Bipartisan consensus flourishes in Trump era

Hmm. So read the tea leaves. It goes on to say that 3 of 4 Americans support it. So if that's the case with trade then I wonder what the real truth is about illegal immigration, sanctuary states and cities, global warming and everything else that others are doing to destroy this country.

Washington Times

Support for robust foreign trade policy is very popular among all Americans, with positive feelings now at a 25-year high according to Gallup research. It found that the good feelings “jumped” after President Trump took office. “‘America first’ makes sense to Americans on trade,” said a new Gallup analysis of polls conducted in the past two years, and compared to historic data dating from 1997. “Bipartisan consensus has emerged that foreign trade is good,” wrote Gallup senior analyst Lydia Saad. “Americans’ broad view of trade is the most positive it has been in more than a quarter-century.

So do a Google search and you will see the CNN slant. So why hasn't the FBI classified CNN as a "threat"?

America-first trade policy is crushing the global economy

consumers are watching anxiously as disruptive politicians, beginning with US President Donald Trump

Yeah, a lot of people claim to be America first, but when it comes to opening their wallets, their buying behavior indicates otherwise.

America first needs a combined effort between govt, corporations, and consumers. If all three aren't working together, it simply does not work.

Government: We need tax and regulatory policies that encourage businesses to keep jobs / manufacturing in the US. Policies need to be favorable to US based corporations that put the country first.

Corporations: While focusing on shareholder value is important, it also cannot be to the determent of the home country. Govt and consumers need to reward the corporations that make an effort to keep jobs / plants in the US.

Consumers: Consumers need to understand that cheaper is not always better. You cannot complain about your main street being vacant or jobs being shipped overseas of small businesses while constantly spending at Wal-Mart or buying cheap sh*t from China on Amazon. Giving your business to corporations that make an effort to keep your jobs local regardless of price helps encourage other companies to do the same.

All three of these are a leg on a three legged stool. If one leg is weak or missing, the stool cannot stand.

Actually the aircraft carrier was purchased from Russia out of a ship graveyard and rebuilt .

The vast majority of other countries puts the interests of their countries and their people first. Why do some idiots believe the propaganda that other countries are not doing that, the EU is trying and succeeding at squashing their member countries ability to put the interest of their people first, that is like what Hitler would have done. His government wanted to control everything. It is not as bad as Hitler times under the EU but I do see some similarities of how they are trying to run things.

Weird OP.

YES, Americans believe in Trade Policy that puts American interests first.

Always have.

That has nothing to do with Trump, it has everything to do with basic logic.

You should really read the Gallup Poll itself.

The net effect of Trump's pluses and minuses on trade is that his approval rating for how he is handling foreign trade tracks closely with his overall job rating. For instance, when last measured in February, Trump earned 43% job approval on trade, vs. 45% overall. That contrasts with the 56% he earned on the economy generally.

Trump's overall job approval rating is even lower today, at 39%, most likely meaning his rating on trade is also down

I beg to differ. The president has consistently run on America first. I wish British interests were similar.

People can not be this stupid.

A poll asked Americans if they wanted a trade policy that prioritized American Interests. They said yes.

AS THEY ALWAYS HAVE...

The poll also clearly shows it has nothing to do with Trump.

news.gallup.com...

It is absolutely MORONIC to claim Americans wanting trade that favors Americans is a Trump thing.

It is like saying that Trump ran on Americans liking to eat when they are hungry then pointing to a poll that yes, in fact Americans like to eat when they are hungry! So they must like Trump!!

A BETTER QUESTION IS

Has Trump delivered on that?

Thus far...NO
