Hell no.

Not giving absolute credibility or removing it, i will just leave a mental thinking exercise for everyone;
But first we have to assume a few premisses:
1º - Pre history, refers to a time for wich we have no documented history, doesn't mean all mankind was wild living only covered by some animal skins with rocks and sticks on their hands;
2º All we got from what we consider the most ancient civilizations , are carved in stone, huge blocks of stone;
So here goes the exercise:
Think about us (mankind) today, all the available technology and knowledge we have now.
Now imagine that a huge cataclism happens, a metheor falls into the atlantic, a solar flair like we never saw before, the consequence will be our total destruction as we know it, and since we don't write on huge blocks of stone, what will remain to tell our story? Maybe some of us right? but then, we know how to use stuff, but how many of you know how to build them, and without the infrastrustures to get the materials how would you build whatever? power infrastructures, communication....
So the information about our civilization will be told by the survivors to their descendents, we can even try to make some paintings in a stone to try to explain to them what was like to live in our civilization before the disaster.
When the survivors die, their descendents will talk about the stories the survivors told them, stories about magical things like talking to people on the other side of the word, and produce light as the sun, (...) in a few years those stories will become myths, or god like things... And here we go again...

I truly believe that mankind as went though a few resets already, and we dont know anything about the past, because by now we already classified all of that as myth, and primitive beliefs of magic and so on, there is not written information, no pictures no anything. We find a few clues but there are no survivors to tell us what it was like, and like that our history has started over and over, it wasn't the aliens, it was always us, other us that got through near extinsion.

Isn't this the 5th world or something.. If I don't cut my grass for a month in summer it's totally overgrown.. A thousand years of no grass cutting or weeding and there will only be plants left. No evedence of anything else. Plants would evolve to recycle everything else.

It's to the dust we will return.
