The Carbon is not used during the energy release.

Some of it is.
Some carbon is burned to form CO2, the arch-nemesis of the global warming folks.

We made something similar to this. NOw, when you go big, you need a lot of juice and it makes a lot of heat....but it was fun...just $20 in parts at Home Depot.

It's not practical in motor vehicles the hazardous waste has to be dealt with. Can't just dump it in the ground.

SInce when is water (H2O) a hazardous waste?? Because that is the only byproduct of a hydrogen fuel cell powered car.

And yes, a kid with an electrolysis kit can make hydrogen....
Now let me know when you can make and capture enough hydrogen to be useful and then compress it to 3000 psi.

Not joking worked on fuel cells for GM for a while. Government regs say it's hazardous waste. And you don't want to be dumping millions of gallons on the road when it's -10 outside.

But seriously....i made a hydrogen generator pretty cheaply to go on my car. We got about a 10 percent increase in mpg. And this was with 20 bucks of materials from home depot. I DOES get hot though and uses a lot of battery power.

Looks like you found some flaws you got to fix now. Research and Development!

Do I have to remind you guys that Fukushima plant was using Hydrogen technology and it blew up because Hydrogen mixed with Oxygen. Product is unstable.
